📚 Australian writer Jordan Prosser is heading to the UK with his new novel, Blue Giant. 🇦🇺

The Melbourne-based author and screenwriter begins a five-date UK tour next week, with events in London, Manchester and Edinburgh around the publication of his second novel.

Blue Giant is a darkly comic story about ambition, anxiety and trying to find your place in a world that increasingly feels as though it’s falling apart.

Introducing the full line-up for the inaugural OzLit Festival! 📚🇦🇺

Tim Winton, Alexis Wright, Santilla Chingaipe, Heather Morris, Kathy Lette, Evie Wyld, Intan Paramaditha, Lucia Osborne-Crowley and Laura Elizabeth Woollett will come together for a celebration of Australian writing and ideas at Foyles, Charing Cross Road, this October.

Under the theme The Next Chapter, the festival spans fiction, history, memoir and ideas. Tim Winton will join live from Western Australia and Alexis Wright from Melbourne, with the other seven authors appearing in person at Foyles.

OzLit Festival is an initiative of FANZA, in partnership with the and Foyles Bookshop.

Tim Winton is a four-time Miles Franklin Award winner and twice Booker Prize-shortlisted author.

He will open OzLit Festival in an exclusive conversation live from Western Australia, ahead of the publication of Songs from the Firefront - a deeply personal memoir in essays exploring art, landscape, family, environmental loss and what we hope to pass on to future generations.

In a rare festival appearance, Alexis Wright will join OzLit Festival live from Melbourne.

A Waanyi First Nations writer from the southern Gulf of Carpentaria, Wright made history in 2024 when Praiseworthy became the first book to win the Miles Franklin Award and Stella Prize in the same year.

She will also discuss Tracker, her collective memoir of Aboriginal leader and campaigner Tracker Tilmouth. Her 1997 novel Plains of Promise returns to print in the UK and Europe in 2027.

Filmmaker, historian and author Santilla Chingaipe (Santilla Chingaipe) brings Black Convicts to OzLit Festival.

The groundbreaking book recovers the lives of African-descended people transported to Australia and grew from research begun for Chingaipe’s award-winning documentary Our African Roots.

Shortlisted for the 2025 Stella Prize, Black Convicts will be published in the UK by Jacara

🎭 It’s the final weekend for two brilliant Australian shows at Edinburgh Festival Fringe, with Sammy J’s Hero Complex and The Listies’ 110% Ready both wrapping up their runs this Sunday!

We dropped in to see Sammy J and The Listies' Rich and Matt with Duncan Munro - the man behind the wonderfully unlikely story behind Hero Complex. If you know, you know… and if you don’t, you’ll have to see the show to discover how Duncan, a ladder and a 1987 Phantom diary somehow combine to tell one extraordinary story.

Meanwhile, anyone wondering just how chaotic a Listies show can get only needs to look at that stage… 🧻😂 Their award-winning family comedy 110% Ready has proved so popular that extra performances were added for the final weekend.

🇦🇺 Solomon Islander-Australian artist Setwun brings his genre-blurring sound to Ronnie Scott’s this Friday for Late Late Electronic with Setwun & the Soulstranauts.

Setwun is the musical project of singer-songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist and DJ Josh Panakera-Molony.

Moving between contemporary jazz, psychedelic neo-soul, broken beat and electronica, his latest EP, Visions in Venus, explores psyche-soul, groove and instrumental experimentation.

🚨 Exclusive Q&A: FANZA meets THE FARM, the Australian contemporary performance company bringing Glass Child to House of Oz at Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2026.

A raw and deeply human documentary dance-theatre work, Glass Child stars real-life siblings Kayah and Maitreyah Guenther, exploring love, anger, family and the way we view Down Syndrome.

In our Q&A, The Farm describe the show as “a slice of real life” and speak about the 13-year connection behind the work, finding “a language that reaches deeper than words”, and bringing Kayah and Maitreyah’s first international performance to Edinburgh.
