The RICHMOND MAY BALL returns!

After a record-breaking 2023 event, we are excited to announce that the Richmond May Ball will once again take place in an eye-catching marquee on Richmond Green on Friday 10th May 2024, the eve of the Richmond May Fair. Both the Fair and the Ball were a resounding success this year. An astounding £140,000 was raised for our charities. The 2024 Ball will benefit two wonderful and deserving local charities:
• My Life Films mylifefilms.org is dedicated to improving the mental health and wellbeing of people living with dementia and supporting their carers and family members. Their unique film-based services, including the dementia-friendly streaming service My Life TV, support a range of needs, whether that be sustaining hobbies and interests, sparking conversation and connection, providing moments of calm or simply bringing joy, smiles and laughter!
• Park Lane Stables RDA parklanestables.co.uk are an award-winning RDA (Riding for the Disabled Association) centre with a wide programme of activities, including assisted riding, horse care, carriage driving, equine therapy and hippotherapy. “A place of kindness where horses help people and people help horses”, last year they helped over 1000 families.

Over the years, the Richmond May Ball has raised well over a million pounds for around 20 local charities and we look forward to raising substantial sums for this year's chosen beneficiaries.
We know that this will be another wonderful evening to remember. We shall start offering the tickets in January, so for now please save the date Friday 10th May 2024. It's an event etched firmly into the fabric of Richmond Life. This black tie event celebrates the start of the May Fair weekend. Located on the historic Richmond Green, the ball features champagne reception, fine food and wine, cocktail bar, auction, dancing and live band.

Record-breaking return of the Richmond May Ball on Richmond Green, raising over £100,000 to support local charities

After a devastating enforced 3 year break, the Richmond May Ball exploded back on to Richmond’s social scene last Friday. Over 470 guests enjoyed a champagne reception in a stunning marquee sitting proudly on Richmond Green - a glamorous start to a glorious fundraising Ball. After a sumptuous dinner, Richard Lintern (Silent Witness) described the wonderful work of Home-Start and a moving film followed describing the work they do with disadvantaged families who are struggling. Then Fiona Button (The Split) gave a moving personal introduction to the work of Skylarks before the audience were moved by the film of the work they do with disabled children and their families.
The indomitable ex British Lions star, Rob Henderson, then led the Live Auction which raised a record-breaking £60,000.
After the excitement of the auctions and raffle, guests danced the night away with the amazing band Fake Tan until carriages at 1am. Magically, after all the guests had gone and within only a few hours, the marquee was transformed into a lively craft tent for all the fun of the Richmond May Fair on Saturday.
With final calculations still to be made, it is clear that the Ball will have raised well over £100,000 to contribute to our charities' vital work.
This was the Richmond May Ball's 27th fundraising event and it was made possible by the generous sponsorship of a number of local businesses including Moore Barlow, Minesoft, Featherstone Leigh, Savills, Love Cocoa, Bingham Riverhouse, Betzone, Handelsbanken and Banham Foundation.
