Tower Hamlets Welcomes is a community sponsorship and advocacy group that aims to support and promote the resettlement and inclusion of refugees and other newcomers to the London borough of Tower Hamlets.

Last week, Mike represented Tower Hamlets Welcomes at a roundtable at Canada House.

The discussion brought together voices from UK, Canadian and US sponsorship schemes to share experiences of refugee sponsorship and help inform the development of the UK’s new Named Sponsorship policy. This approach has the potential to grow sponsorship and enable more communities to welcome refugees they are already connected with.

We’re grateful to have been part of the conversation and look forward to seeing how the policy develops.

We had a great time at the Tower Hamlets Welcomes Quiz Night. We even had a play-doh round!! Thanks to those who came along, what a great night!
