I was delighted to welcome all our newly elected and returning Chingford and Woodford Green Conservative Councillors to the Houses of Parliament to celebrate their excellent victory in the May 2026 Local Elections.

Following months of campaigning and hard work, it was wonderful to come together in celebration of the six additional seats gained across Chingford and Woodford Green.

Thank you to everyone who has placed their trust in us. I look forward to working with each councillor over the next four years to deliver on the priorities that matter most to residents in Chingford and Woodford Green.

We were truly delighted to be invited to Parliament yesterday alongside our local MP, Iain Duncan Smith MP to celebrate the election of 14 Conservative councillors across Chingford in May.

It was a wonderful and well-deserved occasion for us all to come together as a strong, united team to discuss our shared local priorities and the key issues that matter most to our residents.

We are committed to working closely with Sir Iain to deliver real improvements for our communities in Hatch Lane & Highams Park North.

Thank you to everyone who has placed their trust in us. We remain fully focused on serving you with dedication and enthusiasm.

Hey everyone, just sharing a quick update about the green benches being removed from the Mount‼️

Starting yesterday, crews began removing the green benches in the area. This decision comes after a noticeable rise in crime and anti-social behaviour tied to that specific spot. The goal here is to disrupt that activity and make the space feel safer for everyone.

Cllr Afzal Akram was onsite today and the removal work should wrap up by this evening. Right after that, teams will be coming through to deep-clean the street and make some environmental upgrades to the space.

This wasn't a snap decision—local residents, community groups, and partner agencies were all consulted to help figure out the best way forward. Moving this street furniture is just one part of a bigger, ongoing effort to clean up the neighbourhood, tackle local crime, and make sure our public spaces are welcoming for all of us.
