Stories We Carry: Books, Identity & Creative Exchange

Join us for our next Trans Youth Support & Mentoring session for trans young people 16-30.

Bring a book that has enriched your life and explore it through creative writing and reflection, followed by a community clothes swap celebrating identity and self-expression.

The session will be facilitated by Sonal, a community counsellor and facilitator who creates reflective and supportive LGBT+ spaces.

SCRIBBLE YOUR STORIES: Q***R CARTOONING

Join us on Wednesday 14 October, 6pm–7.30pm at Croydon Town Hall for a cartoon workshop, led by cartoonist and illustrator Amelia Cartoonist Shmartoonist

Scribble it. Swap it. Make it Q***r.

We’ll explore q***r experience through collaborative cartooning, using scribbles, doodles and simple creative exercises to discover how images can communicate feelings, experiences and stories.

We’ll create drawings and captions before swapping and remixing them with other participants to make unexpected single-panel comics that bring our different experiences together.

There’s no need to be “good” at drawing and no pressure to create a perfect finished piece. This is a relaxed, welcoming space to experiment, express yourself and connect with others.

All materials will be provided.

For LGBT+ adults aged 18+.

LGBT+ Swimming continues this autumn!

We’re delighted to confirm that our dedicated LGBT+ Swimming sessions will continue at Waddon Leisure Centre, with our next three dates now secured – and booking is open for all three.

A dedicated space for Croydon’s LGBT+ community to swim, connect and feel comfortable in the water – whether you’re a regular swimmer or haven’t been in years.

Spaces are limited to 35 people per session, so we encourage you to register in advance.

Our Trans Youth Support & Mentoring programme is heading indoors for the first time.

Join us on Thursday 17 September, 6pm–7.30pm at Croydon Town Hall for a creative zine-making workshop with illustrator and comic artist Dominique Duong.

Together, we’ll explore different zine-making techniques and create our own personal zines celebrating moments of q***r joy, pride and connection.

With so much happening in the world – particularly for q***r and trans people – this session is an opportunity to spend some time focusing on the moments that bring us joy, reinforce our connections and allow us to celebrate who we are.

No previous art or zine-making experience is needed. All materials will be provided.

For trans and non-binary adults aged 18–30.

Today, the updated EHRC Code of Practice came into effect. We always knew today would be significant, but the response has been unprecedented.

In less than eight hours, we’ve received over 150 requests for RADAR keys. We are committed to honouring every request and will continue working through them as quickly as we can.

We’ve now distributed more than 4,000 keys to trans, non-binary, intersex and genderq***r people, making this support available across the UK.

This scheme was made possible through funding and donations. That funding has now come to an end, so if you’re able to help us continue providing free RADAR keys, please consider donating via the link in our bio or the Support Us page on our website.
