Have you ever noticed something about experience? It cannot be bought, rushed, or cajoled into existence. You simply have to go through life to gain experience. I bet that the best leaders will tell you that while leadership courses have been beneficial, they would firmly align themselves with the lessons learned in the crucible of life. It is those intense experiences—when all hope seems lost and you have to put your trust in God—that truly shape a leader.

I have faced challenges, as Paul described, from every side. But I have come to understand that, as Paul also said, God’s grace is most evident in my weakness, not in my strength. I have studied diligently and read many books, searching for wisdom everywhere. Yet I’ve concluded that no leadership course compares to David’s words: "Is there not a cause?" 1 Sam 17:29

You see, the cause or vision of God should keep you steady and your heart settled through life’s trials. Each test you face and overcome is shaping you into the leader God intends you to be.

Lord, as we enter this season of transition, I feel a profound gratitude in my heart, alongside a touch of apprehension about what the new year may bring. It’s human to seek knowledge of the future, yet we are called to trust You with our tomorrows. You are our rock and anchor in uncertain times, an impenetrable fortress whose name is honoured and whose word remains steadfast. Please lead and guide me on a sure path, ensuring my footing remains secure. Teach me Your ways, that I may walk the path of life and discover joy in Your will. When trouble arises, I take comfort in knowing that You are holding my hand. Lead me, Lord, and guide me, I pray.

As we anticipate the arrival 2025, let us remember that our God stands apart from all others. In a world where many seek answers from Ouija boards, horoscopes, witchcraft and other false means to glimpse what lies ahead, child of God, your life rests in the hands of the one true God, who declares the end from the beginning. He knows your future. Trust that your Father has incredible plans for you, filled with promise and hope. Instead of looking to the right or the left, look up to your God. He is your help, and His right hand will guide you into the future. You need not feel anxious about tomorrow—rest in His assured love today. Prepare for tomorrow through prayer; your loving Heavenly Father will meet you with His presence.
