A huge well done to all of our Brentford Canoe Club athletes who represented the club so brilliantly today at Thames Young Mariners. The team put on a fantastic performance, showed great sportsmanship throughout, and brought home multiple event wins! 🏆

It was fantastic to see Brentford out in force and to watch our paddlers putting all their hard work into practice on the water. A big thank you to Richmond Canoe Club and everyone involved in organising such a well-run event.

🌊 Today we proudly launched Thames Pathways, our new funded project, welcoming pupils from Green Dragon Primary School and The Green School for Boys onto the water for their first session — and despite the rain, there were plenty of smiles all round!

🚣 Over the coming months, the project will introduce 50 young people to rowing, gig rowing, canoeing and kayaking, alongside boat building, environmental workshops and water testing, helping them discover the importance of the River Thames and our local waterways.

💙 We are incredibly proud to be part of the programme and look forward to sharing the experiences, achievements and memories these young people create along the way.

We’re excited to announce that we have officially launched Brentford Rowing Club, based at Brentford Community Boat House.

Whether you’re completely new to rowing or looking to get back on the water, we’d love to welcome you. We offer:

✅ Evening rowing sessions
✅ Weekend rowing sessions
✅ School rowing programmes with local schools
✅ A clear pathway from school sessions into our weekend club

Our aim is simple – to reconnect Brentford with its waterways and celebrate the area’s rich rowing heritage. Brentford has been home to rowing clubs since 1897, and rowing played a key role in the formation of what eventually became Brentford F.C..

Come and discover this fantastic sport, meet new people, improve your fitness, and become part of a growing community club.

Big Thank you to all our volunteers who turned up today, in the rain! And helped our community and environment. Brentford Canoe Club is a new community club which has been kindly been given access for o 980GWR .

Come Join Brentford Canoe Club This Saturday!
Help us fight plastic pollution and make a difference to our local waterways.
We're working with the local community to collect rubbish from the canal in Brentford, and we'd love you to join us. You can take part on the water in a kayak, canoe or paddleboard, or help from the towpath – everyone is welcome!
🕙 Session 1: 10:00am
🕧 Session 2: 12:30pm
📍 Starting from Hadleys, 980 Great West Road (Boston Manor Park entrance)

Another Great day on the Canal with Brentford Canoe club.
We have put over 80 children on the water this week in rowing boats, kayaks Canoes and sprint Canoes- come join us next Saturday for our BIG PADDLE clean up hosted by at 980 Great West Road.
