A huge thank you to everyone who joined us on 1 October to celebrate International Day of Older Persons!

It was wonderful to see so many people come together at Community House for a day full of activities, entertainment, creativity and plenty of food and conversation!

From chair-based exercise and music therapy to drama, cake decorating, crafts and a fantastic performance from Connaught Opera, there was so much going on throughout the day.

Thank you to everyone who delivered activities, hosted stalls, volunteered, helped behind the scenes and most importantly, to everyone who came along and made the day what it was.

We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. It was a brilliant celebration of older people and our local community and we loved sharing the day with you.

Some of our team have been brushing up on their First Aid skills!

From choking and bleeding to dealing with emergencies, they’ve been getting plenty of hands-on practice and building the confidence to know what to do when it really matters.

A big thank you to everyone who took part and to our trainer for putting the team through their paces!

We’re pleased to report that all staff members left with the same number of limbs they arrived with. The training equipment wasn’t quite so lucky… 😂

Class of 2026!

Throughout August, Greenwich Cooperative Development Agency (GCDA) ran a four-week healthy cooking programme with some of our groups in Greenwich.

Our participants learned new skills, explored healthy cooking and, most importantly, completed the course!

We’re delighted to share this photo of some of our clients proudly receiving their certificates.

We’re celebrating with a FREE day of activities, entertainment and good company at Community House in Bromley on Thursday 1st October.

Come along and try something new, meet people and enjoy a packed programme including music therapy, chair-based exercise, drama, cake decorating, crafting and a special performance from Connaught Opera.

We are deeply saddened by the events in Nepal and our thoughts are with everyone affected.

Age UK Bromley & Greenwich has longstanding and valued connections with the Nepali community, from our previous work with former Gurkhas to our current Nepali Women’s Group.

We know that members of our local community may have family, friends and loved ones in Nepal and that this may be a worrying and difficult time.

Age UK Bromley & Greenwich is looking for an Oxleas Care Navigator to join our team, working in partnership with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust.

This is a rewarding role supporting people with complex needs through the Proactive Care and Frailty pathways. You’ll work alongside health and social care professionals to help people navigate services, access the right support and achieve better health and wellbeing outcomes.

📍 Location: Memorial Hospital, Shooters Hill, Woolwich
⏰ Hours: 37.5 hours per week
💷 Salary: £29,542
