🌊 FLOODSHARE 🌊

A new performance created by young people from the Cally Fest Young People Performance Project, exploring identity, belonging, housing, mental health, connection, and life in a city that can feel both overwhelming and inspiring.

Born from writing and devising workshops led by Odd Eyes Theatre and the Stuart Low Trust, FLOODSHARE blends personal stories, movement, drama, and the experiences of living in London right now.

Inspired by explorations of Inside our minds and how it is affected by the events Outside, and shaped by the real-life flooding that hit Caledonian Road in February, this original piece asks: what happens inside us when the world outside is changing? How do we find ourselves in an overcrowded city? How do we stay connected when life feels isolating?

Join us for this moving, honest, and creative performance.

The Italian Cultural Institute in London hosted a special screening of Odd Eyes Theatre’s award-winning short On The Line.

The award-winning short follows two best friends from “endz” who skip school to enjoy a day of luxury at a rich classmate’s villa, and end up facing life-changing choices between loyalty and ambition.

The screening was followed by a panel discussion with:

⭐ Emilia Teglia, writer and director, founder of Odd Eyes Theatre

⭐ Jessie Quinones, Afro-Cuban-Irish writer and director

⭐ Chiara D’Anna, London-based Italian director and actress

Discussing the topic of genuine representation in media, the film makers gave their input into how this could be achieved through collaborative storytelling and supporting career development. They then proceeded to answer questions from the audience about their creative and logistical processes.

Cally Fest performance project returns for its second year, led by Odd Eyes Theatre with the Stuart Low Trust, and we’re looking for 18-35 year olds from across Islington and London to get involved.

This is your chance to create an original play based on your real-life experiences and take it to the stage three times, building up to a final performance at Cally Fest this July.

You’ll be working closely with award-winning writer & director Emilia Teglia to develop bold, honest, original performance. Discover & explore your own process, add to your creative toolkit, and experiment with your ideas in a supportive & inspiring environment. Using your personal experience, you will develop a performance in a style and medium of your choice and learn about autobiographical writing, devising and script development. There will be drama exercises and professional training to support, inspire and challenge you in this process.

Actors, writers, dancers, spoken-word artists, musicians - or total beginners - whatever your talent, we want to see it.

Come to our open audition workshop and experience how the show will be made. No prep needed, just bring yourself.
