We want to say a huge thank you to all the incredible lawyers and firms who have supported our pro bono work this year — including volunteers from Baker McKenzie, Fieldfisher, Orrick, and Slaughter & May.

Together, 46 volunteers have taken on more than 70 community care cases from charging and assessment challenges to welfare benefit appeals.

Your expertise has achieved life-changing results for people who rely on social care helping to secure correct direct payments, overturn unfair charges, and even spark wider local authority reviews resulting in refunds to hundreds of residents. 💪

Every hour you give helps to uphold access to justice and dignity in care.

A heartfelt thank you to the brilliant students from the University of York and the University of Liverpool, who have contributed their time, skills, and compassion through our clinics this year.

Working on real community care matters — from advocacy and carer assessments to letter-writing clinics, you’ve helped individuals secure vital support and raised awareness of rights in social care.

The clinics have also inspired the next generation of lawyers, encouraging more students to consider careers in community care law.

That recognition matters. It means:
✅ A right to reasonable adjustments at work and in services
✅ Protection from discrimination

Yet too often, people with ADHD face barriers accessing fair assessments or getting the support they’re entitled to.

⏳ One month to go.
We are fighting a landmark legal case against three government departments, challenging the lack of transparency surrounding how social care is funded.

We believe that disclosure of the information requested would allow social care organisations to collaborate with central government to improve long-term decision making on social care funding.

⚖️ Despite the Information Commissioner ordering disclosure, the government continues to withhold it.

🏛️ HM Treasury, the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government, and the Department of Health & Social Care are all preparing to fight this decision in court on 17th, 18th and 19th November.
