After 17 remarkable years as Chair of Music of Life, Ray Longbottom has decided to step down later this year.

Ray’s leadership has helped shape Music of Life as we know it today. His legacy includes a strong and engaged Board, clear strategic direction, and firm foundations for the charity’s next phase of development.

As we enter an important stage under our 2026–28 strategy - focused on sustainability, income diversification and responsible growth - we are partnering with Nurole to appoint our next Chair to lead this exciting chapter.

We are seeking an outward-facing, values-led leader with the credibility to represent the charity at senior levels, the confidence to lead from the front at key moments, and a genuine commitment to our mission and the children and young people we serve.

The role is live here: https://app.nurole.com/roles/698c8f3e112ae630ded4a25a

If this could be you, or someone in your network, we would be delighted to hear from you. Please consider sharing this opportunity.

Co founded by The Music Man Project UK and AllegroModerato, this inspiring global alliance brings together organisations from the USA, Japan, Italy, the Netherlands, the UAE, Finland, Colombia and beyond, all working towards one shared goal: making music education and performance accessible to everyone.

We’re proud to stand alongside such passionate partners and look forward to creating even more opportunities for inclusive music around the world.

Joy is at the heart of everything we do at Music of Life! Our sessions are full of laughter, fun, and a little bit of silliness, because joy creates connection, confidence, and space for children to truly be themselves. These moments of smiles, funny faces, and shared laughter are not extras, they are a big part of the work.

When children feel happy and safe, the music comes alive, friendships grow, and magic happens 🎶
