Ultra‑processed food use disorder (UPFUD) is showing up more often in clinical settings, yet many practitioners still feel unsure how to identify it or how best to support patients who are struggling.

Our new CPD‑accredited training gives clinicians a clear, evidence‑based framework for recognising UPFUD and responding with confidence and compassion. Through practical tools, case‑based learning, and a biopsychosocial approach, you’ll gain strategies you can use immediately in practice.

If you work in healthcare, mental health, nutrition, or coaching, this training will help you meet patients where they are and support them toward meaningful change.

You’re already treating this - now get the framework that makes sense of it.

Many clinicians, nutritionists, dietitians and health coaches are reporting the same pattern: patients presenting with metabolic instability, emotional dysregulation, compulsive eating behaviours, and a sense of “losing control” around ultra processed foods - yet these presentations rarely fit neatly into existing diagnostic categories.

Ultra Processed Food Use Disorder (UPFUD) is emerging as a major clinical blind spot. Without a shared language or framework, healthcare professionals are left to manage complex cases with fragmented tools.

This CPD accredited training gives you the clarity and structure needed to recognise UPFUD, differentiate it from other conditions, and intervene early. You’ll learn how to use screening tools based on ICD-10 and employ a biopsychosocial model that supports patients toward remission.

If you’re seeing rising levels of metabolic disease, emotional eating, or food-related compulsivity in your patients or clients, this training will give you the confidence and practical tools to support them in their recovery.

Food Addiction deserves to be recognised as a real public health issue.
Our team has submitted a unified response to the WHO, calling for “Ultra-Processed Food Use Disorder” to be included in the ICD-11 under “Disorders due to substance use”.

Backed by 200+ academic papers, this proposal represents years of work from clinicians, researchers, and people with lived experience.

The WHO is still accepting comments.

If you believe this matters, now is the time to add your voice and support the submission https://www.the-chc.org/s/Quick-Guide-to-Endorsing-a-WHO-Proposal-Online.docx
