This summer, Bexley Libraries, Artstrain and Active Horizons are teaming up to offer a unique songwriting project for young people aged 13–17 as part of Read to the Beat, this year’s Summer Reading Challenge. 🎶📚

From 17–19 August, participants will work with professional musicians to write and record original songs inspired by books, before filming a music video in one of our libraries.

It's a fantastic opportunity to build confidence, express creativity and discover how reading can inspire music.

Places are limited, with recruitment managed by Active Horizons.

Lesnes Abbey The Lesnes Abbey Page are one of our incredible Learning Destinations, and this activity booklet is absolutely fantastic! I speak to so many people who haven't yet visited Lesnes Abbey and I would highly encourage you to do so - and remember to pick up your activity book which will bring you back in each season whilst also earning stamps for CU passports!

Looking for FREE things to do with the kids this summer holiday? Why not pop down to Lesnes Abbey Woods and pick up your copy from Chestnuts Kiosk.

This booklet is packed with ideas to do with family and friends throughout the seasons. These fun activities help you explore the history and nature that makes this place unique. From fossil digging and taking a history tour, to making a magic staff and spotting birds, you should find something for everyone to enjoy. This booklet has been made possible by funding from the National The National Lottery Heritage Fund and players of the National Lottery. You can also get points towards your Children's University card
