28% of disabled young people say they’re getting the right support at school or college.

The Government has said it wants to put young people at the heart of SEND reform. The SEND consultation is a chance to help make sure those voices are heard.

In the Star Wars universe, every hero has their own journey — and every Padawan learns to communicate in their own way.
For many children here on Earth, speech, language and communication challenges can make everyday life feel like navigating a whole galaxy of obstacles.

At Afasic, we’re here to make sure no child or family faces that journey alone.
We help young people build confidence, find their voice, and develop the communication skills they need to thrive — at home, at school, and out in the wider world.

💛 With the right support, every child can become the hero of their own story.
💛 With understanding and guidance, families can feel empowered rather than overwhelmed.

“Families need to know that children with Developmental Language Disorder are not missed in the discussions around SEND Reform but, as Speech and Language UK’s “Missing Millions” report shows, they are being left out again. At Afasic, we agree with Siouxsie that this is not good enough – please watch her video and contact your MP to ensure children with DLD are not overlooked this time. ”
