Muslim Women Founders: 2025 was a year of building with intention.

Across the year, Muslim Women Founders created spaces for Muslim women to gather, think, speak, and lead, across business, philanthropy, tech, media, and community life. From intimate conversations to public platforms, our focus has been on strengthening leadership infrastructure, visibility, and connection.

We hosted and collaborated on live panels, workshops, and gatherings across London, Manchester, and Birmingham; launched The Alchemy of Leadership retreat and masterclass series; continued Muslim Women Talk Ramadan; and partnered with platforms like Friday Magazine to ensure Muslim women’s stories are held with depth and permanence.

This work sits at the intersection of community, strategy, and systems change. It is about moving beyond visibility alone, toward agency, influence, and collective capacity.

Thank you to every woman, partner, and collaborator who helped shape this year.

What a night Muslim Women Awards surrounded by women shaping change across business, STEM, education, media, sport, activism and more. To witness so many journeys honoured, stories elevated, and legacies celebrated was deeply affirming. Thank you to Suada Mohamoud and her team for creating a space that recognises Muslim women at scale and for placing our voices, businesses and leadership firmly at the centre.

With over 50 million Muslim women entering the workforce since 2000 and contributing nearly $1 trillion globally, an estimated £225B untapped market in the UK alone - this is not just representation, it’s influence, scale and opportunity waiting to be unlocked. Events like this remind us why visibility matters, but building ecosystems around that visibility matters even more. At Muslim Women Founders, this is the work we are committed to: strengthening networks, expanding opportunity, and ensuring Muslim women are not only recognised, but resourced, connected, and positioned to lead.

As part of our ongoing work to strengthen leadership pathways for Muslim women, Sabah Gilani chaired an Islamic Relief UK roundtable on Muslim Women in Philanthropy. This was a private convening rather than an open event, but the conversations held were too important not to share with you, our growing community of founders, leaders and future philanthropists.

From the legacy of waqf to the accelerating rise of Muslim women in the global workforce, the landscape is shifting in real time. Since 2000, more than 50 million Muslim women have entered the workforce, now generating close to $1 trillion collectively, with an estimated $225B untapped economic value in the UK alone. Pair this with the fact that British Muslims give four times the national average, and Muslim women now lead almost half of Muslim-led charities, creating influence, infrastructure, and opportunity. It is evidence of a generational shift in contribution, leadership and stewardship. At Muslim Women Founders, we believe the future lies not only in celebrating Muslim women, but in building the ecosystems, networks, and strategic spaces that allow us to lead with confidence, resource one another, and move from visibility to power.

The MWF x Friday Magazine Summer Soirée brought together over 60 Muslim women founders, campaigners, entrepreneurs, and changemakers for an intimate night of values-led conversation, community, and celebration.

The timing couldn’t have been more significant. Just a day earlier, the Co-op announced a landmark update to its ethical sourcing policy committing to cut trade with regimes engaged in widespread human rights abuses. Faria Ali, Campaigns & Public Affairs Manager at the Co-op, joined the panel to share her insights on shaping justice-focused strategy inside a major UK business. Her voice, alongside Friday Magazine founder Sadaff Rangrez and Sabah Gilani, OBE, Muslim Women Founders offered a compelling, timely reflection on what ethical, values-based leadership looks like in action.

Muslim Women Founders is proud to spotlight women who are not only breaking ground, but building with integrity. And it’s just as vital to celebrate businesses that are listening, evolving, and placing social justice at the centre of their work.
