FHN is an international non-governmental organization (NGO), which has been successfully running sustainable health-related projects in low and middle-income countries since 2001. FHN is active in rural, remote areas, focusing on providing affordable, high-quality primary health care, as well as promoting public health. The organization provides human resources, as well as technical and financial
support – the project management, however, is always in the hands of our local partners. Currently, FHN is working on two projects, one in Ecuador and one in Ghana. The latter is led by "FHN UK", while "FHN Germany" is supporting the project in Ecuador. Before FHN initiated these projects, the local populations had no or very limited access to health care. FHN's board members are professionals in relevant areas such as medicine, health and development. They work with FHN on a voluntary basis. The organization does not hold any political or religious affiliation.
