I’m incredibly proud for completing the the Commonwealth Climate Negotiation Training in London at Australia House , from Ambassador Elizabeth Bowes and
Common Wealth represented by Suresh Yadav.

I was ecstatic when I was nominated for by the UNCCD Focal Point and my attendance endorsed by leadership Green Africa Youth Organization-GAYO Botswana and I’ve carried one fundamental responsibility ; that my attendance to this training, will not end with me, but support the capacity building of many more through the Youth Climate Council Botswana and I look forward to localizing the lessons .

Reflecting on a major milestone for youth-led climate action in Botswana !, I’m incredibly proud to have cordinated towards the May’s NDC Regional Outreach Forums in my role at .

These historic, decentralized and deaf inclusive consultations gave young people a direct voice in shaping Botswana’s NDC 3.0. True climate action requires strong partnerships, and this collective effort proved exactly that! 🌍🙌

When I stepped into the role of Coordinator for the Youth Climate Council Botswana I already knew we had to move past the rhetoric of “asking for a seat.”

Youth leadership in climate policy now needs a technical roadmap . I sat down to draft a concept note that would bridge the gap between youth energy and the technicality of the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).

After a successfully coordinating the Pre and Post COP30 forums towards the end of last year .I set my sights on a new goal ,which was simple but ambitious: move the dialogue beyond Gaborone and make it geographically and ability-inclusive.

With Colleagues at Africa Youth Organisation (GAYO)Botswana , we took this vision to anyone who would listen. Seeing the team at GAYO, UNDP Botswana , BA ISAGO University , and the Ministry of Environment rally behind my concept has been the highlight of 2026.

These forums in Francistown and Maun weren’t just events; they are the realization of a strategic framework designed to ensure no young people are left out of the climate conversation. 🌍🇧🇼

So filled with joy reflecting at what cordination and determination can achieve !!! I’m particularly proud that we managed to inch towards inclusive climate dialogue ; having youth who are deaf attend in both locations !!

Cloudy Weather almost always ends up in me wanting to dress like a Peaky Blinder 💀😆.

Celebrating small wins for Civil Societies in Botswana. For two years Bridging the Gap will create mechanisms for organizations on the ground to interact with parliamentary committees .

A great move toward having citizens closer to their policy makers .

Huge thanks to .economics.society and Africa Climate Risk Nexus for having me speak at the Student Impact Series! It was an absolute privilege to share my thoughts with young economists and change-makers on the critical issue of Africa's Climate Realities and our priorities as a continent.

Friends and Colleagues in Youth Leadership and Youth Serving spaces 🇧🇼

now that the Botswana National Youth and Gender Policy 2026- 203 has been adopted , if you fall with the Youth Bracket or are youth serving in your work and you ddnt watch the the parliamentary sessions yesterday and today I highly encourage you to do so and also get your hands on this policy .

The power of getting first hand information is that you’ll be able to form an opinion of your own before other people summarize to you and infer their perspectives and biases before telling you what was said .

From today , this Policy presents an opportunity to track the amount of effort that will be put to remedy a lot of the concerns we have regarding issues affecting youth , I truly believe it will serve as a great tracking tool and blueprint for which you can assess what level of effort will be put in representing your interests , be mindful to also track your own participation to ensure that you are a showing up as a cocreator and nation builder and not just a recipient .

There will be a lot of consultations for example that will happen as some of the frameworks under this policy are being built , it’s our responsibility to stay in the know and avail ourselves , as soon as tomorrow there is a planned virtual engagement.

One thing I always emphasize at such consultations is the Readiness to contribute , which truly speaking can only be built through; taking time to read, and appreciating the Key issues being discussed at each forum.

If you’re paying attention, you’ll realise that the only way to create a seat at the table is through creating our own platforms and to inviting government and all other stakeholders .

The time for us to demand the table has long passed, we have a unique opportunity to shape our future but we have to come correct .

Someone said to me that the burden of proof of competency lies with us , and however unfair , it’s our reality and imagine how wonderful it is to be technically apt, energetic and passionate about the causes we care about !
