And now it's being reported on tv!

Thousands of women are leaving the Royal British Legion in protest at plans to curb their independence. Across the country, hundreds of branches of the women's section could close. In Suffolk, it's likely to be 16 out of 19. In what is becoming a bitter dispute, the chairman of a branch in N...

We're being asked to refrain from speaking to the press. Why is this?! Surely it's in the interests of the public including all the beneficiaries to find out what's going on?! Anyone have a view?

It's official. Our 95 year old organisation is no more. Very very sad times for the charity, beneficiaries and all of the members who gave their time and support to the Women's Section.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this post, but unfortunately the Royal British Legion Women's Section will be no more as of 30th September 2016. And therefore we as a proud group of women voted today to bow out gracefully and not have the board of trustees make any more decisions for us. To go…

Sign the petition and share!!

After 95 years supporting the serving and ex-service community, we are being faced with the closure of this charitable organisation. The 30,000 members who fundraise for this worthy cause were not consulted in the decision! Join us in our fight to survive.

The British Legion Women's Section has been a part of the British Legion since 1921, carrying out welfare and support for the wives of serving and ex-serving personal after the 1st World War. It is the only body of women organised for this purpose. It got its Royal statuses in 1971, which now give u…

Beginning to make the news now

The charity plans to bring the section into the main charity in October, but the central committee of the women's section is resisting and a petition against the move has attracted more than 1,000 signatures

It is with great upset that we are facing the closure of this 95 year old institution.
After so many years supporting the serving and ex-service community and their dependants, the Board of Trustees have decided that the RBLWS will lose our national status.
Will this be the end to our membership organisation? And what about the beneficiaries who receive support from all of our fundraising?
So many unanswered questions!! We won't go down without a fight!
