The Patchwork Foundation mission is to promote and encourage the positive integration of disadvantage

The Patchwork Foundation aims to promote and encourage the positive integration of deprived and minority communities into British political society. Patchwork or ‘pieced work’ is a form of needlework that involves sewing together pieces of fabric into a larger design. Deprived and minority communities in Britain are a diverse mosaic of people from different cultures, faiths, ethnicities and social

backgrounds. Once they are ‘sewed’ together, these diverse communities contribute in a cohesive manner that facilitates a two-way positive interaction with and into British society. The Patchwork Foundation is not affiliated to any political party and does not promote a particular political view. It does however work on the promotion of mainstream political participation and works with the main political parties to support this agenda.

Mid-Year Review ✅ and what a night it was 🙌

Our 2026 Masterclass cohort came together to reflect on the first half of the programme — the highs, the growth, the challenges, and everything in between. We heard from the Patchworkers themselves on how they’ve found the journey so far and what they’re looking forward to ahead 💙

✨ Applications are open for the Flint Global Internship 2026!

A paid, 8–12 week summer internship starting in July — exclusively for Patchwork alumni and current cohort members.

Last night we hosted our latest Masterclass with , Member of the London Assembly and Leader of the Green Party of England and Wales 🎓

We held our first Skills Session with last week discussing the Rule of Law with our Masterclass Patchworkers. In this session, we examined the intersectionality of law, business, and governments. Thank you to Hogan Lovells for hosting us and providing such informative knowledge!📚

Last week we held our first Masterclass of 2026 with Guto Harri CBE, broadcaster and former Downing Street Director of Communications.💬

Guto shared insights into his past work experiences and emphasised the importance of communication. Our Spark cohort had a chance to ask Guto questions and gain valuable advice.

A historic moment for our Patron 🏛️✨
Today, Baroness Farmida Bi delivered her maiden speech in the House of Lords!

As our Founding Chair and current Patron, Farmida has been a tireless champion for young people from underrepresented communities. Her journey to the red benches of Parliament is a testament to the power of representation and the change we’re all working towards.

From supporting our Masterclass Programme to advocating for diversity in public life, Farmida has always believed that every young person deserves a seat at the table where decisions are made.

Now, she’s taking that fight to the House of Lords 💪

Congratulations Baroness Bi – we couldn’t be prouder! The young people we support have a powerful voice in Parliament
