Year 13 Geography students are working very hard on their field trip to Flatford Mill in Suffolk. On arrival on Sunday they went straight to work by conducting a variety of surveys in the local village of Dedham. Today the focus has been on coastal erosion. A variety of measurements were taken on different parts of the beach at Walton on the Naze to analyse the effectiveness of different types of coastal defences. Tomorrow they are heading to Harwich for a study focusing on the topic of ‘Place’ and the character of the town. The students have been lucky to enjoy beautiful sunshine for the whole trip so far. This trip is vital preparation for the students’ coursework studies, which they will begin in earnest when they return to school, putting into practice what they have learnt on this trip.

Last week Chis and Sid students Dulcie and Shree (Year 10 and Year 11) were selected to play for the 'South team' in the Barclays Knight-Stokes Cup at Lords as a result of their outstanding batting and fielding during the campaign.

They exemplify excellent sporting attitude, etiquette and resilience and they worked incredibly hard go cement their place on the South team. We couldn’t be prouder of them for their achievements.

Rugby, culture and a whole lot of hard work in Northern Italy!

From exploring the history of Verona and Juliet’s Balcony to cruising across Lake Garda from Sirmione, the boys packed plenty into their pre-season adventure.

Early morning runs and tough training sessions set the tone before the trip culminated in a competitive fixture against Rugby Parabiago.

It was a brilliant week of rugby, resilience, culture and team bonding — the perfect way to prepare for the season ahead!

Following the joy of A Level Results Day 2026, we are delighted to celebrate another outstanding achievement: Chis and Sid has been ranked 11th state school in London for GCSE results, according to The Times 2026, 21st August.

The school is No.1 for GCSE results in Bexley, 11th leading state school in London and 38th satte school in the UK and Northern Ireland by % of grades 7-9 — results to be truly proud of.

Welcome to our new Year 7s!

We are delighted to welcome our new Year 7 students to Summer School between 24th to 26th August as they begin their journey at Chis & Sid.

Summer School is a fantastic opportunity for students to become familiar with their new surroundings, make new friends and experience life at Chis & Sid before the start of the new academic year. Throughout the day, students will take part in a range of engaging activities designed to build confidence, encourage teamwork and help them feel at home in their new school community.

Our staff are looking forward to meeting everyone on Monday and supporting students as they make the exciting transition from primary school to secondary education.

We know that starting a new school is a significant milestone, and Summer School is designed to ensure that every student feels welcomed, supported and ready for September.

We cannot wait to meet our newest members of the Chis & Sid community and begin what promises to be an exciting and successful year ahead.
