Across two days at CCUS 2026, the conversations will move from the projects already reaching construction and operation to the next challenge: how do we build the conditions for the next wave of CCUS projects to move forward?

More than 100 speakers across 30+ sessions will explore the decisions that matter now - from project delivery and industrial decarbonisation to infrastructure, finance, technology, policy and emerging international markets.

And with hundreds of delegates expected, those conversations will continue well beyond the stage.

📍 Five CCUS projects are now being built, including in the North West, North Wales and North East. Together, projects under construction have:
💷 Awarded more than £4 billion in supply chain contracts
🏭 Involved around 350 UK companies and subcontractors
👷 Supported or created approximately 5,500 construction jobs

💼 The Autumn Budget provides an important opportunity to signal to investors that the UK is serious about deploying CCUS. Building out the initial clusters and allowing the next projects and clusters to reach key investment decisions during this Parliament is vital for reindustrialisation and will help support the proud manufacturing regions that underpin local economies across the UK.

How are the UK and EU bringing greenhouse gas removals into their Emissions Trading Schemes—and what could this mean for future linkage? 🌍

Last week, the Carbon Capture and Storage Association (CCSA) brought together a working group to compare UK and EU approaches to integrating greenhouse gas removals (GGRs) into respective emissions trading schemes (ETSs).

The group also considered what these approaches could mean for EU–UK ETS linkage and where future alignment may be possible. 🤝

Four priorities will shape the CCSA’s next steps: 📌

👉 Track the outcome of the EU–UK Summit and seek clarity on the scope of dynamic alignment.
👉 Analyse the EU approach, including whether UK credits would be treated as “domestic” or “international”.
👉 Help ensure that the UK’s committed integration of GGRs into the UK ETS is not delayed.
👉 Future-proof the UK ETS GGR integration design so that it can support alignment at a later stage.

The CCSA is uniquely positioned to bring industry from the UK and EU together around the same table—creating space for collaboration, shared learning and meaningful progress. 🌍🤝
