🐾 Spice Update 🐾

Little Spice had his toe amputation surgery yesterday and we’re happy to report that he’s recovering really well! ❤️

In true Spice fashion, he clearly didn’t get the memo about taking it easy. The vet nurse told us he was already trying to escape from his pen at the clinic and made several determined attempts to remove his cone. 😂

He’s now recovering in a clear plastic pen in his foster’s bedroom, where he’s being closely monitored… although “resting quietly” doesn’t seem to be part of his plan. He’s as mischievous and naughty as ever, keeping everyone on their toes despite being one toe lighter!

We’re so pleased with how well he’s doing and incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported him on his journey so far. Please keep the healing vibes coming while Spice continues to prove that orange cats really are a special breed of chaos. 🧡🐱

We have raised nearly £300 of the total £625 total vet bill which will be paying for some of our cats and kittens to have their vaccines and microchips tomorrow at the vets.

🚨 URGENT HELP NEEDED FOR SPICE 🚨

Today has turned into a nightmare.

Our beautiful boy Spice was due to be adopted with his brother today, but before that could happen, he suffered a serious injury and has completely broken one of his claws by getting it caught.

We rushed him straight to the vet, where we were told that unfortunately this is a very common injury seen in both cats and dogs. The damage is severe enough that the injured toe now needs to be amputated. Their owner to be has been informed and is just relieved that they are okay and still wants to adopt both boys as soon as they are ready.

As you can imagine, this has come as a huge shock and a massive unexpected expense for our rescue. Spice’s surgery and treatment is costing £625, and we need to raise the funds as quickly as possible so he can receive the care he urgently needs.

We have been super busy behind the scenes here at the rescue. Since Friday we have rehomed multiple cats with 2 more going to their homes today. What a busy weekend. The following cats are now in their forever homes.

Licorice

Lincoln

Fifi

Zuri

Pumpkin and spice go today to their forever home.

Callie goes to her forever home on Thursday

Tracey goes to her forever home Friday

Peaches goes to her forever home 29th June.

Taylor is having some health issues but has a home lined up for when he is better.

Daphne has a home lined up and will be going after her vaccine 4th July.

In the next couple of weeks we will have an additional 9 kittens that will need new forever homes.

We also still need a home for chance and destiny

And sweet Buster will be searching for a forever home too.

Adoptions are officially open for these 4 absolutely stunning kittens.

Pumpkin and spice 🐈 🐈 they are 2 brothers (ginger and white) who are the most playful adventurous kittens who spend most of their time trying to figure out what they can do to cause trouble. They are very affectionate and cuddly and absolutely love attention. They will need to be rehomed together. They can be rehomed with dogs other cats and children.

Fifi 🐈‍⬛ she is their sister and although she has some play in her she is so much more relaxed than her brothers and spend her days trying to work out the best spot to take a nap. She enjoys being pampered and is very chill. She would benefit from a home with another relaxed cat in the home who could give her company. She can be rehomed with other cats, dogs and children.

Callie 🐱 she is the funniest little thing and the only time she sits still is when she is eating. She is so full of energy and so playful, but also she is so affectionate. Callie loves a cuddle and will rub her whole body all over you to make sure you know you belong to her. She would benefit from another young cat who would be happy to play with her. Because of her extremely playful nature and her use of claws we feel she would not be good in a home with children under 10 years old. However could be rehomed with a cat savvy dog.

We hate asking you guys for help, but today we need to once again.

Far too often we answer calls about cats that have been abandoned, neglected, hungry, injured, scared, or simply forgotten. We do everything we can to help them, no matter how full we are or how difficult the situation may be.

Behind every rescue is equipment, transport, vet visits, food, cleaning supplies, and countless unseen costs that make it possible for us to continue helping cats in need.

Right now, we need to raise £256.18 for some essential equipment that will help us continue our rescue work safely and effectively.

For a large organisation, £256.18 may not seem like much. For a small rescue like ours, it feels like a mountain.

Today we had pumpkin, spice, fifi and peaches in to have vaccines. I didn’t get photos of fifi on the vet table as she was a little explorer and needed both hands. They was all vaccinated and microchipped and will be ready for rehoming from Friday onwards. Look at the floofs on the babies 🥰😍🥹
