BYT Improvisation Theatre is a workshop company that experiments with variations of improvisation and movement and develops skills in voice work.

We are BYT Improvisation Theatre - an Experimental Theatre group and we have been doing theatre for over 40 years. Under Director Ed Cottrell (Stage Director of the Royal Albert Hall for 8 years), we have performed shows everywhere from Cairo, to Paris, Edinburgh, Brighton, and dozens of venues across England. Our workshops run every Thursday at 8.15-10pm where we focus on improvisation, expressio

n, creativity, set design, self-development and building confidence. We have had members from over 49 nations and many have been complimentary as to how BYT has helped them settle down in a new country - our vocal exercises also help with job interviews (ala the film: The King's Speech). For actors looking to go professional - another benefit of getting involved in fringe theatre is it is one of the most vital elements in your acting CV, it shows that you have tread the boards, and you are more likely to get an acting agent if you have been involved in fringe productions. If you want to learn to be creative and trigger your artistic soul as well as learn numerous skill sets pop round to our theatre and sample what we can offer you.
