Kit Hung is a distinguished q***r filmmaker, educator, and artist with over 30 years of experience. Renowned for his deeply personal and evocative storytelling, his work explores themes of identity, love, and loss within marginalised communities. Born in Hong Kong and now residing between Zurich and London, Kit’s cinematic creations are often influenced by his diasporic experiences and the complex challenges faced by both Hong Kong’s and the global q***r communities. His critically acclaimed films, including Soundless Wind Chime, Stoma, and Forever 17, have been showcased at prestigious festivals worldwide, such as Berlinale, Rotterdam, Golden Horse Taipei, Hong Kong International, Mill Valley, New York MIX, and Frameline. Kit was also an official nominee for the Teddy Awards and has won numerous awards across the globe for his impactful works.
In 2023, he was honored as the Yale-China Artist Fellow, where he curated an eight-day Hong Kong Film screening series and produced Strange Light - Being Bubblicious, an immersive VR experience rooted in his connections with marginalised voices. Her feature projects have previously participated in Film London Production Finance Market, Berlinale Talents Script Station, Golden Horse Film Project Promotion (Work-in-progress) and 18th Hong Kong Asia Film Financing Forum. She is currently working on a documentary project, The Way We Were, which has participated in Sheffield MeetMarket, CNEX CCDF and Docs By The Sea.
