On Friday 4th July, we were delighted to celebrate the achievements of our Skills Academy children alongside their families.

Parents joined us for a special graduation event where we recognised the hard work, confidence and creativity shown by every child throughout the year.

As part of the celebration, families enjoyed an art exhibition showcasing the children's fantastic work, and we reflected on the wonderful drama performance presented to parents the week before by our talented drama group.

We ended the session with a lovely family picnic, giving everyone the opportunity to celebrate together and enjoy the achievements of the year.

We are already looking forward to another exciting year of Skills Academy starting in September.

A huge thank you to Zen Educate for organising a fantastic Bake Sale and Thrift Shop in support of our Maritime Marathon.

Thanks to the generosity of everyone who donated, baked, shopped and supported the event, an amazing £180 was raised for Maritime Children's Foundation.

Every pound raised will help us continue supporting children and families through our projects and activities. We are incredibly grateful for your support and community spirit.

Our Transitions programme is all about helping children feel ready, confident and supported as they move from primary to secondary education.

We are continuing to strengthen partnerships with local secondary schools to ensure this journey is as smooth and positive as possible for every child.

As part of this support, our Transition Leads have arranged additional visits for some Year 6 pupils to their new secondary schools. These visits help children understand what a typical school day looks like, build familiarity with the environment and feel more confident ahead of September.

By working together, we help children step into their next chapter feeling prepared and excited for what’s ahead.

It's great to see the ongoing community partnership between Hook Lane Primary School and Riverdale Court Care Home.

The children always look forward to their visits and the opportunity to spend time with residents, sharing stories, laughter and activities together. These special afternoons create meaningful connections across generations and bring so much joy to everyone involved.

A huge thank you to the wonderful team and residents at Riverdale Court for always making the pupils feel so welcome.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported, sponsored, donated and cheered on our amazing participants in this year's Maritime Marathon. Together, we raised an incredible £9,600 to support children and families across our communities.

Our Community Ambassadors play a huge role in bringing our schools and communities closer together.

By building trusted relationships with families, they listen, understand what support is needed and help connect parents with the right services, opportunities and advice in a way that is clear and meaningful.

They also shine a light on the fantastic things happening across our schools, celebrating successes and helping to build pride within our communities.

Working alongside parents, staff and local organisations, our ambassadors help create opportunities, lead initiatives and make sure everyone feels heard, included and connected.
