Don’t miss our annual Charles de Chassiron Memorial Lecture, one of the Society’s two principal annual events alongside the Leconfield Lecture in November. This year, we are very pleased to welcome , journalist and art historian, as our lecturer.

The lecture is named in honour of Charles De Chassiron CVO, who served as Chairman of the Society from 2005 to 2015. Following his passing in April 2018, the Society established this annual lecture to honour his long and dedicated service to the BIS and to commemorate his remarkable diplomatic career and contribution to Anglo‑Italian cultural life.
