Diaspora Power - Citizens UK

Diaspora Power - Citizens UK We are a Citizens UK initiative with migrant, refugee and diaspora leaders at the forefront of our work.

CITIZENS UK is the national home of community organising and the largest alliance of civil society organisations in Europe. Our goal is to build the power of communities who work together for the common good. The Diaspora Caucus exists to promote community organising among institutions and leaders which are based in the UK remain connected to their country of origin by nationality, language, relig

ion or culture. Through training, leadership development and action, we aim to build the power of diaspora communities to tackle social injustice and to improve public attitudes to migrants through working with others for the common good.

“I am glad I got to tell the court my story. I was born in this country and have lived here all my life. I feel as British as any of my friends and it’s not right that I am excluded from citizenship by a huge fee.”- 12 year old Child O.

This is a big win. Thanks to all who campaigned. No child should be left out.

Court finds ‘mass of evidence’ that fee stops many children registering for citizenship
