Curious about what lies beneath the Thames?

Join us on Tuesday 26th May at 7pm for an illustrated talk by mudlark Sean Clark, exploring the fascinating world of 17th-century trade tokens - small coins with big stories. Discovered along the river’s foreshore, these objects offer a glimpse into everyday life during times of upheaval, from the Great Plague to the Great Fire and beyond.

Sean will share highlights from his own collection and the remarkable histories behind them, alongside his journey into mudlarking.

Join us for an evening of brain‑teasing, family‑friendly fun that’s guaranteed to spark a little healthy competition. We’re delighted to welcome back Jo Coburn, former BBC political journalist and presenter, as our guest Question Master for the night — and she’s more than capable of keeping order!

Curator’s Talk: Canaletto and the Thames

Join us at Pier House, Chiswick Pier for a fascinating illustrated talk exploring the work of one of the great painters of 18th-century city life.

Art historian Nick Pollard, curator of Spelthorne Museum, will guide us through Canaletto’s remarkable paintings of the River Thames, revealing the extraordinary detail with which he captured London’s river, architecture and daily life.
