🌍 World Diabetes Day 🌍

One of our Camp Simcha dads recently shared something powerful with us:

“I remember when my son was diagnosed, the doctor told him he would be able to do almost everything like before… ‘You may not be able to be a pilot, but everything else’.”

He then saw someone share their story of becoming a pilot even though they had diabetes. He shared just how wonderful it was to know that if you want something badly enough, it is possible.

✨At Camp Simcha, we support children with more than 50 different medical conditions, including Type 1 diabetes.✨

We understand that a diagnosis doesn’t just affect the child, it impacts the entire family. The routines, the worries, the learning curve, the sleepless nights.

That’s why we are here: to provide practical, emotional and therapeutic support so no family faces these challenges alone.

✨ Due to growing demand, we created our dedicated Diabetes Community of Support ~ a warm and welcoming group where parents of children with Type 1 diabetes can connect with others who truly “get it.”

It’s a space to share knowledge, experiences and encouragement, as well as attend informative talks and events designed to empower and uplift.

Join our team: Advice & Triage Service Manager
Hybrid, Hendon | Permanent | Full-Time

Are you committed to ensuring families with diverse needs get the right support, at the right time, in the right way?

At Norwood, in collaboration with community partners, we’re proud to be launching the Open Front Door, a new advice and triage service that serves as the first point of contact for families, professionals, and partners seeking guidance across children’s and adult social care.

Our vision is simple but powerful: clarity, connection, and compassion for every person who turns to us.
As Service Manager, you’ll lead this pioneering service from concept to reality.
You’ll design and deliver a responsive, person-centred model that connects people with the help they need, whether within Norwood or through trusted community and statutory partners.
You’ll bring:
- Strong experience in social care, education or advice services
- Confidence in leading teams, shaping systems and driving service innovation
- The empathy and diplomacy to guide families through complex situations
- A commitment to Kindness, Respect, Belonging and Empowerment, our core values
This is a rare opportunity to build something new, a service that will influence how families access support across the Jewish community and beyond.
If you want to make a tangible difference, turning vision into impact, we’d welcome an application from you.

An Episode Not to Be Missed!

Join JNF UK to hear the extraordinary story of Dr Yoav Bichovsky, Senior Physician at Soroka Medical Centre in Be’er Sheva.

Whilst bravely volunteering as a reservist, Dr Bichovsky was critically injured when his vehicle was struck. Rushed to Soroka in an unrecognisable state, he was treated by his own colleagues in the very ICU where he usually works.

In this moving conversation, hear how Dr Bichovsky endured unimaginable challenges and found the strength to recover, before returning to save lives once again.

We are horrified by the shooting attack in Jerusalem that claimed the lives of six people and left at least eleven others injured. We mourn those who were tragically murdered and hold their families and loved ones in our hearts and prayers 🕯️
