The Metropolitan Police is investigating threatening and racist graffiti left on a bus stop in Barking.

The disturbing racist graffiti read, “P***s go home. This is my country. Trump style coming,” appeared sometime last week (around 5 May), and the local council have since removed it.

After a Muslim service user contacted us to report it, our casework team made a police report.

The racist graffiti used the P-word and threatened 'Trump style' removals in the Barking area in early May. Police are investigating followng Tell MAMA's report.

A neo-Nazi teenager who wanted to kill all Jews and Muslims to create a white-only Britain tried to behead a Kurdish barber with an axe, a court has heard.

Alina Burns, 19, attacked Mohammed Mahmoodi, 27, with the weapon as he stood outside the shop in Bedminster, Bristol, in August last year.

Bristol Crown Court heard Burns had been motivated by neo-Nazi extremism and had been in contact with far-right groups.

Blackburn Cafe Prayer Room Torched in the Early Hours of the Morning https://tellmamauk.org/blackburn-cafe-prayer-room-torched-in-the-early-hours-of-the-morning/

Tell MAMA has been in touch with Lancashire Police on the torching of Cafe Roha at Roe Lee Park in Blackburn. The cafe was attached to a local Muslim prayer space that was adorned with Islamic calligraphy and prayers.

The torching of the incident happened at 2:30 am on Monday the 11th of May and CCTV pictures point to a group of males possibly being involved in the attack. Two masked men can be seen on the CCTV footage, and they are then seen running away from the scene.

The Muslim prayer area at the front of the building was targeted and the incendiary item was thrown through the glass, leading to damage to the walls and to all of the prayer mats.

The suspected arson attack comes at a time of heightened concern within British Muslim communities about levels of anti-Muslim hate that are rising and which Tell MAMA has systematically documented over the last 13 years.

Tell MAMA continues to liaise further with Lancashire Police following the utterly horrific and reprehensible arson attack on a Muslim prayer room in a Blackburn cafe.

Update from Lancashire police below:

"We are aware of this incident, and there is an investigation being led by detectives into the incident. This is currently being treated as arson, and enquiries are ongoing. We have not received any indication that this incident is motivated by race or religion, and our enquiries have not revealed anything to suggest that this incident was motivated by race or religion. We would ask that if anyone in the community has any further information around this incident, no matter how small, they contact us either online or on 101 quoting the reference LC-20260511-0096."

The trial of John Ashby, who attacked a Sikh female and r***d her in her own home has come to a conclusion with the judge setting aside pleas from his defence barrister around his mental health conditions. Whilst Ashby’s defence barrister stated that he had suffered from psychotic episodes, including being hospitalised in September 2025, she nonetheless stated that the findings of the case were true and that the prosecution’s case was accepted. Ashby’s defence solicitor deferred from the prosecution’s suggestion that this was a deliberately targeted attack, suggesting that it was possibly opportunistic in its nature.

The Ashby case is extremely troubling given the racism, sexual aggression and anti-Muslim hate that was evident in this case. Also evident have been the deep impacts on the Sikh female and her partner who have suffered from panic attacks, bouts of feeling emotionally ‘overwhelmed’, shame and psychological trauma that have affected them in many ways. Listening to the Victim Impact Statement which was read out to the court on behalf of the victim, makes for a deeply painful and moving reading.

Rav Dhillon of the Crown Prosecution Service said it was a “deeply disturbing attack driven by religious hatred” and carried out “against an innocent woman in her own home, where she would expect to feel safest”.

A sexual predator, racist and abuser of women, John Ashby was sentenced by Judge Justice Pepperall to a full life sentence with a minimum of 21 years in jail.

Speaking on this, the Director of Tell MAMA, Iman Atta OBE said:

"This British Sikh woman has demonstrated enormous resilience, bravery and courage in holding Josh Ashby to account for his sexual hate crimes. He was driven by racism, anti-Muslim and gender hate and he randomly followed a South Asian female to her home and subjected her to trauma that is unfathomable. The victim deserves all the respect, admiration, care and honour that we can give her since she is a true inspiration to many women in holding this monster to account."

"We stand with our Sikh communities during this difficult trial. We see your fear and recognise that anti-Sikh sentiment is a unique danger that must be met with dedicated resources and stronger safeguards."

"It is also clear that gender violence continues to be a significant factor and cancer in our society. We also understand the strong links between racism, religious hate crimes and the impacts on female members of diverse communities. This case demonstrates that link."
