cies. All of us offer a variety of able, experienced and trained carers plus a wraparound service package tailored to the needs of each individual child or young person. In the charitable and not-for-profit sector, all our resources remain within each provider to ensure a total focus on the needs of children and young people. This transparency and accountability is welcome in the current climate where local authorities need to know they are getting full value for their budget. Fairer Fostering also has a lobbying function that aims to advocate for children in respect of regulation, as well as representing its membership at central government level.

Fostering through Social Enterprise (FtSE) was established in 2007; and in 2017, we changed our name to The Fairer Fostering Partnership.

Two of our young people in the West Midlands have taken up some new hobbies and interests, via TACT’s Aspirational Fund!

Our Aspirational Fund was established to allow our young people to access resources and facilities that they otherwise may have missed out on, and these opportunities can be instrumental to helping their confidence, wellbeing, and even future careers.

One of our young people had a keen interest in photography and wildlife, the aspirational fund has allowed her to purchase a camera and join a local Bird Club to help her explore her passion.

Another young person expressed an interest in hair dressing and the fund was able to pay for her to be enrolled on a hair dressing course. It not only helped with understanding how to care for her own hair but has also opened up as a potential career path that she is considering for the future.

𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫.
This month, the Department for Education published its vision for putting 𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧'𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞.

It's a reminder of something we've seen over and over during nearly 20 years of supporting young people in and leaving care: 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫.

Whether that's family, foster carers, friends, mentors or other trusted adults, relationships can provide the connection, encouragement and sense of 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐬.

It's a belief reflected in Break's Lifelong Offer, which we've been developing for almost two decades: to be there for young people who've been in care for as long as they need, 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 💙
