🦭🦈🐟 ZSL is hiring two Species Conservation Officers to help deliver a range of aquatic conservation projects across the UK, supporting the recovery of iconic species and habitats through fieldwork, partnership working, data analysis, and conservation action. From restoring native sturgeon populations to advancing eel recovery initiatives and monitoring seals across the Greater Thames Estuary, these roles offer a unique opportunity to contribute directly to species conservation on the ground.
In this role, you will:
🌊 Deliver fieldwork across riverine and coastal environments, both from shore and vessels
🦈 Support conservation projects focused on sturgeon, eels, seals, and other aquatic species
🤝 Build and maintain strong relationships with project partners, stakeholders, and community groups
📊 Manage, analyse, and interpret ecological monitoring data
📝 Produce project reports and communicate conservation outcomes
💡 Support fundraising and the development of future conservation initiatives
📍 Location: Hybrid, based at Regent’s Park, London, with travel to field sites across the UK
📅 Contract: 12-month fixed-term role
🕒 Hours: Full-time
💷 Salary: £31,941 per annum
