✨ July & August at JLGB ✨

We’re bringing you our July & August recap a little early, as we’ll be taking a short break from posting next week! 💙

July and August were ones to remember — packed with celebrations, achievements, goodbyes and an unforgettable summer of JLGB adventures 👏

💛 We attempted to break the record for the most Minions in one place — and it was every bit as chaotic and brilliant as it sounds!

🏅 We celebrated Sam Rose-Isaacs and Rebecca Silverstone, who received awards from the Deputy Lieutenant on behalf of His Majesty The King, recognising their outstanding service as Young Leaders.

🥾 Around 40 young people aged 16–17 took on their Gold DofE expedition, showing incredible determination, teamwork and resilience along the way.

🏕️ For the first time ever, we held two halves of Juniors’ Summer Camp, welcoming more than 180 young people across them for an amazing summer experience.

💙 We said goodbye to our incredible Shinshin, thanking them for an unforgettable year and everything they brought to JLGB.

🎉 Our Local Groups wrapped up another fantastic year full of friendships, activities and memories — and we’re already counting down the days until we’re back!

🌟 Our Young Leaders did the most incredible job at Summer Camp, stepping up, leading by example and helping make camp so special for everyone.

🎙️ We welcomed Jodie Brandman from the What The Falafel Podcast as a special guest speaker, sharing her experiences with our young people.

🤝 We held our annual charity sessions, with Jewish Women’s Aid and Norwood both running meaningful sessions for our young people.

And that’s a wrap on July & August… what a summer! 🙌💙

☀️⛺️ What an incredible Summer Camp!

We really did have the BEST time! 💙

From Minions taking over camp 🍌 and some truly unforgettable kazoo performances 🎶, to amazing activities, challenges and our biggest Colour Run yet🌈 — there was never a dull moment!

Summer Camp is about so much more than the activities. It’s about friendships, confidence, laughter and creating memories that young people will carry with them long after camp ends.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this summer so special — our young people, leaders, volunteers and everyone behind the scenes who brought the magic to life.

We’re already missing it! 💙

A massive thank you to our incredible 2025/26 Young Leader team – Izzy, Amelie, Sam, Rebecca, Abby, Sofia and Joely! 💙💐

What a year it has been! You’ve worked so hard to make this year one our Young Leaders will remember – from an amazing ice skating social ⛸️ to welcoming over 100 Young Leaders across Training and creating a truly unforgettable Young Leaders Weekend! ⭐️

We also had over 100 Young Leaders join us for Winter Camp, with so many enjoying their experience that they came back to make even more memories with us at Summer Camp! 🏕️☀️

None of these moments happen without the hard work behind the scenes, and this team has put so much energy, care and enthusiasm into making every experience special.

Izzy, Amelie, Sam, Rebecca, Abby, Sofia and Joely – thank you for everything you’ve given this year. We’re so proud of what you’ve achieved together! 🏆💙

Not long to go… JLGB Local Groups are nearly back! 🎉

We’re getting ready for another brilliant year of activities, friendships and plenty of fun at JLGB groups across the UK.

We’ve done everything from slime making and milkshakes to slingshots and rockets – and there’s plenty more to come this year! 🚀

We can’t wait to welcome back our current members and meet all the new faces joining us for the first time. 💙

✨ We’re so sad to say goodbye to our incredible Shinshinim, Maya & Gil! ✨

Over the past year, Maya and Gil have made such an incredible impact across JLGB, from AJEX and Training Weekends to Local Groups, Summer Camp and Winter Camp. 💙

Thank you both for your hard work, dedication, energy and endless ruach. You have given so much to our community and created countless memories for our members and staff along the way.

We’re incredibly grateful for everything you’ve brought to JLGB and will certainly miss having you around! 🌟
