TONIGHT: The Lifeline Conversations Screening

For Sickle Cell Awareness Month, COAG Comics is taking over the iconic Dugdale Arts Centre for an evening of film, food and important conversations about sickle cell and blood donation. 🩸

Before we screen The Lifeline Conversations this evening, we are bringing together a brilliant panel to start the conversation:

Jael A’sa Israel - Moderator
Founder of Cell Based Nutrition , naturopathic nutritional therapist and sickle cell advocate, bringing both professional and lived experience.

Laurel Brumant-Palmer - Panellist
Sickle cell advocate Laurel B Palmer, artist and documentary contributor sharing her experience of living and ageing with sickle cell.

Mary Adeturinmo - Panellist
Healthcare and Design Researcher MaryAdet-Make Yourself Amazing 🇬🇧🇳🇬, founder of Know Your BloodLine and blood donation advocate working with NHS Blood and Transplant.

Shane, Macques Nutrition - Panellist
Nutrition coach Macques Nutrition drawing on his own experience of living with sickle cell to support conversations around nutrition and wellbeing.

It’s 🩸 and we’re dreaming bigger for The Crisis Saga.

We created The Crisis Saga to tell a story that isn’t told often enough - bringing together the experiences of someone living with sickle cell and a first-time blood donor through comics, adventure and education.

Meet Aisha, a young woman navigating life with sickle cell.
Meet David, a college football star making his first blood donation.
And meet Donum, an AI-powered VR guide helping people understand why blood donation matters.

But their story isn’t finished.

Our goal is to expand The Crisis Saga into a full graphic novel: a bigger story, a bigger world and a resource that can reach young people, families, schools and readers far beyond the sickle cell community.

And now we’re looking towards the next chapter: getting it published. 📚

So we need your help.
