🏛️ What a great visit to Newcastle Civic Centre arranged by the BDA😁

Last Friday members from BecomingVisible took part in a tour of Newcastle Civic Centre, where they had the opportunity to look around, learn more about the Civic Centre and find out what takes place there

The visit also included a very useful presentation on Democratic Services giving the members a better understanding of how local democracy works.

It was fantastic to see members getting involved, asking questions and enjoying the experience. A very successful and informative visit! 🙌🏻

This was part of the ‘Deaf People are Here’ project funded by Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust.

Thank you to staff and members for supporting us in this project. 😁

This unique visit will give members the chance to step inside one of the city's most important buildings, explore areas not usually seen by the public and visit the Council Chamber, where local decisions are made.
