⭐💚 National advertising company, Elonex, has donated billboard space across the country worth £5 million to support the NSPCC.

🟢 Elonex made the announcement at a recent NSPCC fundraiser at the Grand Hotel in Birmingham.

🎅 The pro-bono advertising agreement will be in place for a five-year period and will begin with the charity’s Christmas campaign, which will be broadcast across hundreds of spaces in the UK.

🙏 In celebration of the support from the local business, Elonex’s CEO, Nick Smith, has received an NSPCC Loyal Award for his support over the last nine years to the children’s charity

⭐🧪 - On Wednesday, Dr Josh Smalley kindly hosted the NSPCC's Number Day 2026 launch at his Science Kitchen, over at the University of Leicester. As part of his demo, Josh presented an experiment to children and adults that was “nice and jazzy”, and involved food, dry ice and “visual colour changes”.

⭐⭐⭐On Wednesday, children’s TV legend and celebrated mathematician Johnny Ball joined Dr Josh Smalley (The Great British Bake-Off finalist) and Emmanuel Asuquo (The Eman Effect UK) at the University of Leicester's Science Kitchen to celebrate the launch of Number Day 2026.

🔢 Registrations for Number Day 2026 are now open, and schools across the Midlands can sign up to receive free resources, including activities from Whizz Education and Sums of Anarchy, to help them ensure their Number Day is a success.

💚 NSPCC volunteer Julie Otter, from Shrewsbury, received her Honorary Council Member Award at the charity’s ACM on Friday 17 October at the Oval in London.

⭐ The award is one of the highest honours the NSPCC can give to a volunteer and is for Julie’s 30 years of dedicated service.

🌭🍺🍷🍴 Earlier in the month, volunteers at the NSPCC Shrewsbury committee held a ‘Beer, Bangers and Wine Night’ at St Chad’s Hall and raised over £4,000 to support vulnerable children in the West Midlands.
