Task Brasil Trust The relief of poverty and advancement of education of young persons in Brazil . The need is urgent as I am sure you are aware.

Task Brasil's work was given an enormous boost in 1997 with a very generous donation by Jimmy Page, the Led Zeppelin rock guitarist. Casa Jimmy has been a home for nearly 600 children, teenage mothers and their babies from the streets. We now run projects for kids aged 6 to 18 to have every opportunity to fulfill their potential & provide advice and support for our ex-residents and their families

so that they live in harmony with their families away from the streets. Task Brasil has always relied on the assistance of trusts and other supporters to run and maintain its projects in Brazil, and this is especially true in the current economic climate. For this reason, we are writing to you today to ask that you contribute towards our COVID APPEAL. There are more than 12,000 people living in the neighbourhood surrounding our headquarters, Casa Jimmy, in Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro, as well as more than 29,000 people living in the next neighbourhood over

“The children read in English super well today 😊 the most advanced were L1 (she read a page of a book in English … and she knew a lot about the weather in English). R2 (about sports), K3 (the very messy kitchen 😅) and P4 (different types of foods), JP5 (names of animals), B6 (the names of different fruits), and E7 needed more help but they were all very good too.”

Thanks to Jimmy Page’s immense generosity, 93 families had their Christmas with dignity and proper food, making their Christmas (2025) one to remember. We distributed at Casa Jimmy, 93 Christmas dinner parcels to low-income families with children – a huge jump from 50 in 2024! – also under Jimmy Page’s generosity.

It was a whirlwind week, but seeing the smiles on these families’ faces made every moment worth it. Many are struggling with no job, some are single mothers doing everything they can to earn a decent living, and all were so grateful to Jimmy Page for a proper, decent meal on their table.

_The parcels included:_
- 1kg rice + sugar + salt
- 1 bottle of milk + salad oil
- 3.5kg+ seasoned chicken or tender
- Potato + onions + mayonese
- Grapes, cashew nuts/peanuts
- Juice sachet, 100g coffee
- Bread for rabanada+farofa (Christmas faves in Brazil
- Peas & corn + cake mix
- Guava paste, chocolate box for kids
- Panetone

We’ve attached some photos and vid os of the families and kids collecting their parcels at Casa Jimmy – their smiles say it all 😊.

December was AMAZING at Casa Jimmy! 🎄💝

We had the pleasure of hosting 3 incredible 🇬🇧British volunteers!

Nikki, who did a placement with us for a few months, back in 2018, came back with a briefcase full of novelties, trainers and footballs for the kids !

Nikki also introduced us to Amelia, who’s now volunteering with us twice a week 💪

Xavi, who volunteered with us in 2024 for few months and kept conversation classes going online from the UK, popped back for a couple of weeks.

We are grateful for their kindness, energy and dedication. Thank you, Nikki, Amelia and Xavi, for making a difference in our Casa Jimmy
