The online design centre is now closed. We’ve been working on a new way to support volunteers to create branded resources and we'll share more guidance and templates with you next month.

In the meantime, here are the resources available to help you recruit more girls and volunteers in your area:

- Order free printed copies of recruitment posters and postcards on the online shop: https://bit.ly/47aDqwx
- Find posters and social media assets to help you recruit one more girl on the website: https://bit.ly/3VoE0nO
- Download volunteer recruitment social media designs via Dropbox: https://bit.ly/4AiyRh4.

If you have any questions or need support, please email [email protected].

New Girlguiding term, new volunteers!

In September and October, we usually see an increase in the number of people looking to volunteer with Girlguiding, including students heading to university and looking for their next role.

This year, the volunteer recruitment tool means local areas can advertise the specific roles needed! We’ve also added a template tailored towards students; to show students the different ways they can volunteer around their studies.

To have the best chance of recruiting the extra pair of hands you need this autumn, get your opportunities listed as soon as you can! If you need volunteers in your unit or area, speak to your commissioner or those who recruit volunteers, who’ll help you advertise the roles you need.

Don't forget to join our next commissioner call, which will run on 8 October 2026 from 8-9pm.

As always senior staff will join and there will be a question and answer session. Thank you for your support and please do encourage commissioners in your areas to attend. We look forward to seeing you there.

The new trainer development programme has launched! It’s never been easier to become a trainer at Girlguiding, with access to more dedicated support from a mentor and a community of trainers across the UK and in your country or region.

It’s a flexible role and you can deliver training both online and in person. Any adult volunteer can sign up to begin the trainer development programme and become a trainer. If you enjoy inspiring others and connecting with peers, find out more and register!

Bringing together the original and little badge books, these new books include every badge for each section in 1 place. Shaped by feedback from girls and volunteers, they’re even easier to use - helping girls keep track of what they've done and discover what they'd like to try next.

See the new badge books or read our badge book guide for more info on the changes we've made, the different books for each section and where Rangers can find their badges, as well as answers to common questions.
