Beddington Evening Townswomen Guild now added lunch club, book club, writing. Ladies, Come and see for yourselves what we can offer. New painting, gardening and craft club

The BETG meets once a month on the 2nd Tuesday of the Month at 2.00pm - 4.00pm
at The Guide Hall Wallington Green (next to the Dukes Pub). Although we are known as Beddington Evening Townswomen's Guild, we are actually now meeting in the afternoon as we are unable to have our usual time of 7.30 in the evening.

Today's Guild was our Birthday Party. 3 visitors joined us for ploughman's lunch, prosecco and Birthday Cake. Followed by Beetle Drive.
Book Club 23/4. Garden Club 21/4 Tully's Farm. Writing Group 14/5 Dobbies. Lunch Club 24/4 Village Grill Cheam.

Donation to Arthritis in memory of Jimmi.

Sue advised that Margaret Sargeant passed away and funeral 17/4 NE Surrey.

Madge was in Hospital following a heart attack.

Long Service awards were presented to 3 members by Sue.

Meeting 10th February. Now independent since demise of H.Q.T.G. 43 Members Talk on the Isle of Wight. Very interesting speaker who has been before.

Yesterday's Guild had Eve from Riding for the Disabled who gave us the history of the RDA and showed lovely pictures of their horses and riders.

Ref closure of HQ TQ - any monies left after receivers, to be given to charity 'Fawcett Society' has it's roots in Suffragettes. We will continue to run as a Guild with the appropriate insurance in place next year. Subs will be £35. Our bank balance is healthy and come Feb/March when subs will be in, we shall continue in the same vein.

Christmas Guild 9th Dec Music and American Supper. Board out for savoury or sweet.

October Guild was our Harvest Supper with a Ploughman's supplied by our marvellous committee.

Colin Steers from British Legion told us a lot about the Legion and a cheque was presented to them from our Guild. Poppies were on sale too.

3 Visitors joined us for this afternoon.

We had a very different speaker today on Burlesque! Lindsay came duly attired in corset and accoutrements as Miss Cherry. She told us how she joined the Womens' Institute and ran a Burlesque Group as one of the first of it's kind. So entertaining.

August Guild had The Paul Allen Project explaining about resuscitation procedures and how they put de-fib's in various places in the Borough and beyond. All their money goes to the project. No staff and no premises.

Today we celebrated V.E. day. Supposed to wear red, white and blue. Scones and cup cakes with prosecco to raise a glass. Robin told us of his acting career and this was very funny. Robin also awarded our Long Service Awards 10 years, 25 years,40 and 60 years.

Book Club 12/6. Lunch Club Song Thai 30/5. Gardening off to Wisley proposed 27/5. Writing 19/6.
