Pax Lodge WAGGGS World Centre
‘A place where strangers soon are friends’
📍 London, England & open to all 🌍🕊️
(372)

As one of five World Centres of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), Pax Lodge is "a place where strangers soon are friends". The centre is situated in Hampstead, North London, next door to the WAGGGS' international HQ. Pax Lodge offers scheduled programmes and events throughout the year. All of our programmes involve exploring other cultures, learning about international Girl Guiding/Girl Scouting and discovering London. We also discuss many of WAGGGS' global objectives and projects. In addition to our scheduled programmes, we offer:

* Hostel accommodation for everybody.
* Tailored programmes for Guiding/Scouting groups (email [email protected] for details).
* Daytime and evening activities.
* Booked in advance dinners for 30 people or more.
* Conference room facilities available for hire.

Did you know the doors of Pax Lodge were given by the Baden-Powell family?
On this day in 1990 the weather was dull and cloudy. 11 members of the Baden-Powell family - Patience B-P, John King, Timothy King, Marion, Timothy Junior and Natasha, Robin, Gill, Mollie Sinclair, Gervais and Betty Clay came for the very first door day!

Today, we celebrated Door Day by sharing our wishes for the future, singing the Pax Lodge song, and sharing Betty Clay's words from that day in 1990 "these doors will fulfil their purpose to let in more and more girls to imbibe their training and friendships and inspiration, and then to let them go OUT to take those things to others."

Shout out to current volunteer Fabi for the very delicious cake 😋

WAC Arts is just around the corner from Pax Lodge. We’re excited for this non-verbal, accessible performance. Produced by Akademi , the show combines Bharatanatym, South Asian dance and audience interaction to bring this important topic to life.
