Today, SSAFA West Midlands North were honoured to be hosted by the Mayor of Sandwell, Councillor Steve Melia, at the Mayor’s Parlour.

During the visit, the Mayor proudly presented volunteer Rob Yardley with his 10-Year Long Service Certificate in recognition of his dedication and commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community.

Thank you to the Mayor for the warm welcome and congratulations to Rob on this well-deserved milestone. Your service and support for SSAFA and our veterans truly makes a difference.

I had a wonderful meeting with Patricia Wright yesterday, who I first met earlier this year at the Holocaust Memorial Day event in January.

It was a pleasure to catch up again and I am incredibly grateful for her generous donation to my Mayoral Charities. Her kindness and support will go directly to the four charities I am proud to champion this year: SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, Compton Care, and Acorns Children's Hospice.

Thank you, Patricia, for your generosity and continued support for our community.

It was a pleasure to welcome Katrina and Mellissa from SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity this afternoon.

It was great to hear more about the fantastic work they are doing to support the Armed Forces community across Wolverhampton and the wider West Midlands.
