Calling all Girldestone Estate residents. We want to hear from you!

We are holding a resident meeting at Girdletsone Community Centre on Thursday the 1st of October from 5pm to 7pm. Girdlestone Community Centre is located # under 151 Salisbury Walk, London, N19 5DX.

Working alongside Girdlestone Tenant's and Resident's Association (TRA) with funding from Islington Giving and Mercer's, the meeting will be a space for local residents to share ideas on how the funding should be spent in the community.

On the day residents we'll be completing surveys and sharing ideas on:

What could help in the local community?
What activities and projects people would like to see in the local community?
What is missing from the local community?

A look back at Help on Your Doorstep's Cost-of-Living Day.

Help on Your Doorstep and Octopus Community Network worked together to run a Cost-of-Living Day at St Luke's Community Centre on Monday, 17th August. To promote the event, 3000 leaflets were delivered across 21 local housing estates.

On the day, we had 19 partner organisations in attendance, providing advice, guidance, information, and signposting on a range of issues. 117 meaningful, supportive conversations took place, resulting in 51 follow-up appointments for local residents. Six residents accessed health checks and were linked into GPs and pharmacies.

Huge thanks to Octopus Community Network for working with us on the event; special thanks to St Luke's Community Centre for hosting, and to all the organisations that attended. Keep an eye on our socials for details of our September cost-of-living event.

FREE Community Sound Bath!!

Join Help on Your Doorstep's Kings Cross Good Neighbours Scheme for a relaxing sound experience where you can take time for yourself and unwind. Immerse yourself in calmness and reduce stress.

Sessions take place every Wednesday, 22nd of July to 26th of August 2026, at Hugh Cubitt Centre, 48 Collier Street, London N1 9QZ.

This session is brought to you by Britain's got Reggae with support from Islington Giving.

A huge thank you to Eseroghene (ES) Akarovwe from the iMAX Team at Islington Council for the incredible support you give to our Good Neighbours Scheme events and community groups.

Eseroghene goes above and beyond every single time. He doesn't just sit behind a table waiting for people to come to him, he gets up, walks around the event, speaks to residents, and makes sure nobody misses out on the help they're entitled to. Even when we're packing away, ES is often still there supporting people with benefits, entitlements and other advice.

Your kindness, dedication and genuine care for our community have made a real difference to so many Islington residents. Thank you for everything you do we're so grateful to work alongside you.

Calling all Girdlestone Estate residents!! Your estate has funding and Help on Your Doorstep have been listening.
Join us for a FREE trip to Southend-on-Sea on Friday the 21st of August for a fun filled day. The trip will be a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a wonderful day by the sea with your local community. See the flyer below for full details.

Celebrating our Cost of Living Day!!
Help on Your Doorstep and partners to delivered a cost of living event at Caxton House Community Centre. The day served as a drop in for people to come and get advice and information on a range of topics.
