YACnCAY (Youth Against Crime Not Crime Against You) Youth Against Crime NOT Crime Against You (YACnCAY) is a charity with the ethos "PIPE Youth!" - Pray, Inspire Promote & Educate Youth!

This youth organisation, Youth Against Crime NOT Crime Against You (YACnCAY), was set up in June 2010, by Dr Bernadine Toyin Idowu, following reports that members within the church community had been victims of crime including the senseless death of a family friend’s son who had been shot in the head and then burnt in a car. She decided enough was enough and that indeed something had to be done im

mediately. She proceeded to get things organised recruiting volunteers from within the church she attends as well as from other churches. She also approached other leaders in the society and YACnCAY was formally launched on Saturday the 18th of September 2010, with then Metropolitan Police Service Borough Commander for Southwark, Chief Superintendent Wayne Chance in attendance. With her belief in the Power of Prayer and direct action, YACnCAY has worked closely with the Damilola Taylor Trust, David Idowu Foundation and the Mayor of London's mentoring scheme (Team London) Whilst developing close partnerships with both statutory and non-statutory agencies to meet the needs of the youth. As well as supporting government initiatives to reduce gun and knife crime in our communities in London and beyond. Also we at YACnCAY propose to work in all boroughs, using a point of contact from each Borough.
