USDAA Aims and Objectives:
We are USDAA and the backbone of Avu homeland. We are transparent in the way we work in our homeland. Our main objectives and goals vary a lot in Avu Community. However, our community development initiatives depend on specific needs and circumstances of this community we currently serve. USDAA’s main objectives and goals seek to achieve as follows:
• enhance its community’s essential physical infrastructure such as schools, healthcare facilities, water supply systems, local roads and sanitation facilities to improve the overall living conditions of the community. We need to STOP THE DUMP SITE JUST BY AVU JUNCTION ON THE RIGHT. IT IS A HEALTH HAZARD!
• foster economic growth and sustain Avu community by supporting local businesses, creating job opportunities, and promoting entrepreneurship.
• enhance educational opportunities and access to skill development programs, empower the younger generation in our community with knowledge and skills needed to improve their livelihoods and contribute to the community’s growth.
• address healthcare challenges, improving access to medical services, and promoting nutrition and wellness initiatives to enhance the health of community members.
• promoting social inclusion and empowering vulnerable groups within the community, such as widows, women, children, elderly, and persons with disabilities.
• implement projects that promote environmental conservation, sustainable resource management, and eco-friendly practices to protect the environment and natural resources for future generations.
• strengthen the skills, knowledge, and leadership capabilities of Avu community members and local organizations to enable them to take an active role in their own development.
• encourage active participation and involvement of community members in decision-making processes, fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility for community initiatives.
• supporting the preservation of local cultural heritage, traditions, and practices, which can help build a sense of identity and pride within the community.
*conflict resolution and peace building: Implementing programs that promote peace, resolve conflicts, and build harmonious relationships within the community, contributing to social stability and cohesion.
• design interventions that target poverty reduction, improving access to resources and opportunities for those living in poverty.
• developing plans and strategies to enhance the community’s resilience to natural disasters and emergencies, reducing vulnerability and ensuring a prompt response during crises.
