What a fantastic March training day with our amazing Home-Start Ealing volunteers!

A big thank you to everyone who took the time to join us. The day was full of energy, learning and connection, starting with a warm welcome from our Director Caroline.

We then heard from our trustee Natasha on GDPR, before welcoming for an incredibly insightful session on perinatal support, followed by a brilliant session from our local GP on autism.

Our volunteers left feeling confident, inspired and ready to support families across Ealing.

We’re so grateful for everything you do 💛

Meet the Team – Sue Melly

We’re excited to introduce the wonderful people behind Home-Start Ealing who help support families in our community. First up is Sue Melly, one of our Trustees overseeing Finance.

Sue first joined the Home-Start family in 2021 as a volunteer, before becoming a Trustee in summer 2025. At the time, she was between jobs and wanted to do something meaningful and different from her usual day-to-day work. As a mum herself, Sue brought empathy, warmth and real-life understanding to the role.

Reflecting on her experience, Sue says she didn’t initially realise the incredible impact Home-Start has. But it quickly became clear how the charity and its volunteers make a huge difference to families in a short space of time, giving them just enough support to get back on their feet and begin to thrive.

One moment that stands out to Sue is the journey of the first family she supported. Although it was a rollercoaster at times, Sue still keeps in touch and is proud to see them now thriving, happy and getting on with their lives.

🎉 We’re Turning 30 – Help Us Celebrate in Style! 🎉

As we turn 30 this year, we’d love to celebrate by getting 30 amazing people to join us at one of this year’s fantastic local races:

🏃‍♀️ Ealing Half Marathon
🚶‍♂️ Ealing Feeling 5k (walk or run, everyone welcome!)

📅 When: Sunday 27th September 2026
⏰ Time: 9:00am
📍 Where: Ealing

Whether you’re a seasoned runner, a casual jogger, or prefer a relaxed 5k walk, we’d love to have you on the team!

Participants will be responsible for their own entry costs and fundraising in support of the incredible work of Home-Start Ealing, helping local families thrive.

💜🧡 All runners and walkers will receive a purple or orange Home-Start T-shirt to wear proudly on race day!
