Love British Food has welcomed Red Tractor as its lead assurance partner for 2026, bringing the two organisations together to champion British food and strengthen demand for assured British produce within the foodservice, retail and public sector.

By connecting the influence of both organisations, the partnership aims to make a stronger case for sourcing British food across the supply chain. The announcement comes as Love British Food celebrates its 25th anniversary.

Kraft Heinz has issued a final call for entries for its culinary competition, Masters of the Menu 2026, with independent chefs across the UK encouraged to submit their recipes before entries close on 31st August 2026.

Returning for a second year following a successful 2025 launch, the competition has expanded for 2026 with a £5,000 cash prize for the winner, an enhanced judging panel including 2025 champion Stefan Sewell and a new partnership with CORD by Le Cordon Bleu.

We can now reveal that Will Torrent, senior development chef at Waitrose, will be sharing his experience and insights at the Education & Training Summit, which is taking place on 7-8th January at Leicester College.

The British Culinary Championships (BCC), which is one of the UK’s largest live culinary competitions, has added a Northern version of the competition that will take place at Hull College on Wednesday 28th October 2026.

The Salon, managed by Hull College in association with the Craft Guild of Chefs, is introducing a Northern heat of the BCC to encourage colleges in the Midlands and the North to enter their students.

All competitors who reach the required standard will be presented with a BCC Salon Culinaire medal and certificate. Awards will be made to the standard achieved.

We are delighted to share that chef Chris Galvin will be one of the keynote speakers at the Education & Training Summit 2027, taking place on 7-8th January at Leicester College.

The summit will begin with a networking dinner on the evening of Thursday 7th January, followed by a full business programme on Friday 8th January, bringing together lecturers, chefs, trainers, employers and industry leaders from across the UK to discuss the future of hospitality education.

The Royal Academy of Culinary Arts announced the highest achievers of the 2026 Annual Awards of Excellence (AAE) at Claridge’s Hotel in London.
The event brought together leading figures from across the hospitality industry to recognise the ‘exceptional talent, dedication and skill’ of the next generation of hospitality professionals. The 2026 highest achievers were:

Brian Turner Trophy (Young Chef of the Year): Callum Davidson, chef de partie, The Georgian at Harrods
