Companions spent a day sorting the fabulous donations from the Queen Mother’s Clothing Guild Over 60 bags of clothes. These will be donated to the men and women who attend the Companions projects in Scotland and England - homeless and elderly. Thank you to the Queen Mothers Clothing volunteers who have knitted the items, sourced and packaged them. And to the Companion volunteers who helped pick up and sort these ready for our Christmas projects🎄🤶🎅. Wonderful 🌟 Queen Mother’s Clothing Guild

On 13 October, we celebrate Blessed Gerard, founder and first Grand Master of the Order of Malta
His example embodies the spirit of a mission that has endured through the centuries, guided by the motto Tuitio Fidei et Obsequium Pauperum: upholding the faith and serving the poor. This ideal is renewed every day through care for the sick, support for the most vulnerable and service to those in need.

Wonderful celebration at the lunch party for the elderly on Wednesday. Very well attended with 60 guests who had delicious food made by the volunteers and a fabulous puppet show - arranged by the Chelsea pensioners. The elderly guests were given gorgeous colourful knee blankets as they left to take home - thank you so much to the team of knitters who make these beautiful blankets. They are donated to us by the generous Queen Mother’s Clothing Guild Thank you to the Fathers at Brompton Oratory for the use of their hall

Many volunteers help at the Breakfast Clubs before they go off to “work 9 to 5” as Dolly Parton sings. This morning 15 volunteers helped at the Breakfast Club - Bayswater. It was busy serving a delicious breakfast and chatting with the 22 homeless guests who attended. Interested in joining? See link in the bio. Volunteers help as little or often as they want. Easy app for signing up.

Volunteers have been busy this week in London with the projects for the homeless. We have also recommenced the projects for the elderly after the summer. A group put on a fabulous lunch party for the elderly ( photos to follow) on Tuesday. Tonight 87 homeless guests had supper. Volunteers helped serve the food, sorted clothes and toiletries and chatted with the guests.
