The Armed Forces Para-Snowsport Team (AFPST) aids the recovery and rehabilitation of wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans through performance snowsports. AFPST Athlete Scott Meenagh has arrived in Italy ahead of the Paralympics to compete in both Para Nordic and Para Biathlon, marking an incredible third Paralympic Games in his career. His unwavering commitment to his sport has been extraordinary, and we couldn’t be prouder to have supported his journey.

Before he even takes to the snow, Scott has already been entrusted with one of the greatest honours in sport: serving as the TeamGB Flag Bearer at the Opening Ceremony. A role that reflects not only his athletic excellence, but the integrity, courage, and spirit he brings to every challenge.

We are immensely proud of everything Scott has achieved and all he continues to represent. Wishing him the very best of luck at the Paralympics! Scott we’ll be cheering you on ❤️

A fantastic day for AFPST at the National Transition Event at , hosted by . Events like this are invaluable for showcasing the work we do and the real, measurable impact sport has on recovery and transition.

Our stand offered visitors the chance to try biathlon using our laser rifle range and ski‑erg setup, a brilliant way to demonstrate how accessible and adaptive our sport pathways can be. The enthusiasm and curiosity from everyone who took part was great.

Alongside sharing our mission, we had the opportunity to meet new organisations, explore potential partnerships, and reconnect with many familiar faces from across our snow family. Taking a spin around the iconic Silverstone track was also a highlight in itself!

Grateful to Mission Motorsport for bringing us all together, and to everyone who took the time to visit us and support ❤️

Our time in Meribel brought a truly special moment on the mountain as The Duchess of Edinburgh joined the athletes of the Armed Forces Para Snowsport Team during the competition.

From the moment she arrived on the snow, it was clear how much she genuinely enjoyed meeting the athletes, hearing Swifty’s stories, and celebrating everyone’s achievements. Her warmth, curiosity, and encouragement meant the world to those AFPST Athletes.

After cheering on the races, The Duchess joined the team for lunch out on the snow, sharing great conversations, and a rare chance to pause together in the middle of a busy competition week. It was a simple moment, but one that captured the heart of what our snow family is all about: connection, support, and the joy of being part of something bigger than ourselves.

A huge thank you to The Duchess for taking the time to be with the athletes today it brought an extra spark to an already unforgettable week on the slopes ❤️

AFPST at the Royal Navy Championships 🇬🇧❄️

What a week on snow for our AFPST crew at the Royal Navy Championships!

Rosie, Dom and Ben settled straight into the beginner group and were totally at home from the start. Meanwhile, Arsen and Ben L were busy honing their coaching skills; Ben leading a brilliant diagonal side‑slipping session with Arsen supporting as the whole group, athletes and able‑bodied alike, lapped the Rosset lift together. Having both of them on hand was invaluable once we moved onto the mountain lifts.

A huge shoutout to Rosie, who absolutely shone. After her accident last year, we’re so pleased to have her back on snow. Arsen and Amy spent plenty of time riding behind to block while Ben L coached her down run after run, and he communicated with her so well. A real team effort.

The snowboard beginners race was a highlight, and our skiers were on fire too. Even the commentators noticed Dom in action as he carved his way through the course!

An epic week all round. Massive well done to everyone who took part, supported, coached and cheered. This is what AFPST spirit looks like. ❄️💙🏔️

🚨 Big news for adaptive Nordic skiing in Scotland! 🚨

With the help of , Snowsport Scotland have purchased a new customised sit ski – designed by a local engineer. With very limited adaptive Nordic kit available, this rig is opening the door for many people to try the sport for the first time.

It’ll be used for local sessions at Fife Nordic Ski Club, development camps across Scotland, and even future competitions – with our sights set on the Scottish Rollerski Championships 2026!

The AFPST team had a productive and energising few days in Serre Chevalier, combining time on snow with meaningful engagement across the wider military snow community.

The trip began with the team gathering at Gatwick before travelling out to Turin and onward to resort. Once in Serre Chevalier, the group linked up with the AWSA and quickly integrated into the programme, joining structured on‑snow activities and spending time with a wide range of supporters and partners. They joined different groups on the mountains and took part in the opening ceremony which was a great highlight.

As the weekend progressed, the team continued to rotate through groups, meeting new faces, reconnecting with long‑standing supporters, and representing AFPST with confidence and pride. A more relaxed Sunday allowed for informal catch‑ups on the mountain, followed by the Team Captains’ drinks in the evening, creating further opportunities to engage with our wider snowfamily.

Throughout the trip, the AFPST athletes worked seamlessly together, showing genuine enthusiasm, professionalism, and camaraderie. Their ability to connect, communicate, and represent the organisation so naturally was a real credit to the team. They were outstanding ambassadors for AFPST. .j0758 Thank you 👊

Project Volya has reminded us once again of the extraordinary power of supporting our international allies and the Armed Forces Para-Snowsport Team (AFPST) Train‑the‑Trainer programme in Ukraine was a shining example of this.

The instructors we worked with in Ukraine were exceptional; engaged, curious, and deeply committed to understanding every element of adaptive snowsport. They asked thoughtful questions, challenged ideas, and absorbed knowledge with the clear intention of passing it forward to their own wounded veterans.

They are the legacy of this programme. Their leadership will ripple far beyond our time together, shaping future instructors and opening the mountains to so many more who deserve the chance to rebuild confidence, strength, and joy through Snowsport.

And while they learnt from our years of experience, we learnt just as much from them to. Their resilience, their ingenuity, and their unwavering dedication to their community. Project Volya is what true partnership looks like and we have made friends for life ❤️

Our team returned from two weeks in Ukraine last week, where we delivered a Train‑the‑Trainer programme, followed by an Athlete programme for their wounded veterans.

We weren’t able to post while we were there, so I’ll be sharing stories and reflections over the coming weeks from this amazing opportunity.

Before anything else, I want to thank and recognise the remarkable AFPST instructors who chose to take this journey with me. They accepted the risks, travelled to Ukraine, and gave their time, expertise, and hearts to delivering something that had such a powerful impact and outweighed any risk we would face. Their selflessness, professionalism, and spirit made this adventure truly special.

We believe our presence demonstrated that it is possible to support our Ukrainian allies directly in country, and hope many more will join us in doing so, as the demand for opportunities like ours is there and can make such an incredible difference.

More stories to come …

Many Thanks to for supporting this project. for joining us on this journey and being instrumental in the ground.

A powerful start to the season at the One Loop Festival in Munich 🇩🇪

This weekend marked a milestone moment for one of our incredible AFPST athletes as he launched into the Paralympic competitive season in the iconic setting of Munich’s Olympic Park, a venue steeped in sporting history.

For the first time, he competed with his Olympic counterparts, a testament to the growing inclusivity and recognition of para sport on the Biathlon world stage. But what made this moment truly unforgettable was the presence of his young family cheering from the sidelines, wide-eyed, proud, and beaming with joy as they watched their Daddy in action.

The children’s excitement was contagious, and the atmosphere created by the IBU was nothing short of magical, a celebration of sport, resilience, and community. The One Loop Festival wasn’t just a race; it was a family-friendly, inclusive experience that reminded us all why we do what we do.

At AFPST, we believe in the transformative power of sport, not just for the athlete, but for the entire family. This weekend was a beautiful reminder of how recovery, performance, and community come together to create moments that matter.

Here’s to an exciting season! Let’s keep championing opportunities that uplift, inspire, and include.
