Namibia 🇳🇦’s first female president, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, has taken direct control of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy after dismissing her deputy prime minister.

She aims to strengthen Namibia 🇳🇦’s expanding resource sector, including new oil discoveries, uranium exports, and green hydrogen projects.

Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 power went out while President Mnangagwa was giving his speech in Parliament, leaving the chamber in darkness.

The Speaker had to hold a torch so the president could finish reading.

The outage happened during Mnangagwa’s State of the Nation Address at the New Parliament Building in Mt Hampden.

Speaker Jacob Mudenda later apologized and promised to investigate the cause of the blackout, which highlights the country’s ongoing power shortages.

The United States has removed Mali 🇲🇱 from its “countries of concern” list.

Now, Malians applying for U.S. visas no longer need to pay deposits of $5,000–$15,000.

This change comes after Mali introduced the same deposit rules for U.S. citizens.
