History:
The Heal Kids Foundation began as Street Kids Rescue in 2008 after the founder, Duncan Mundell, visited Burma. Four weeks later he returned and within a short time had set up a programme to help the street children, organised the building of a school and set up the first clinic. Over the following years the scope of work expanded and by the end of 2012 a total of 14 schools had been built, libraries opened, clinics established, wells and toilets installed in schools and villages and numerous major surgical operations arranged and funded. Since 2010 a lot of the focus has been on working with the disabled. To help these children we opened the Starfish Centre for disabled children where the physiotherapy team are currently also working on a programme of care in the community for those with physical disabilities in particular those children with cerebral palsy.
